The actors in the film don't play themselves and their characters are actually very different from their personalities, making their success even more significant. Valentino Zenuni, the actor in the role of Robert, is very talkative and extrovert, while Tijana Markovic, in the role of Dragana, is a caring and responsible girl.
The archive footage in the opening sequence of the film was discovered on two 16mm rolls during the shoot in the institution. When it was digitalised, it turned out that the rolls contain two promo films about the institution - one from 1973, when the institution opened, and another one from 1976, after the institution was working for couple of years. Both promo films were very optimistic about the perspective of this type of institution and this type of care for children and youth with special needs. Having seen it, director Ivan Ikic saw it as great way to set up the context for the film.
All actors, except the ones in the roles of caretakers and the doctor, are people with special needs. They are residents of the Home for Children and Youth Sremcica, where the film was actually shot.
