Bernard Curry is not going to be in season 2 as a series regular. The second season has moved to New Zealand due to covid-19. Curry who resides in Australia and is in other TV programs there, answered a fan's question on Twitter on December 30th, 2020, saying it would be a stretch to believe Kieran moved to New Zealand to head up the homicide department there, in addition to the characters of Alexa and Madison going there as well. He does, however, appear very briefly in a video phone call with Alexa in an episode in season two.
Since the second season was moved to New Zealand, Todd River, who played Alexa's cat, Captain Thunderbolt, could not go, therefore a new cat was cast for the second season. Lucy Lawless tweeted that her cat, Chowder, was originally going to play her cat in the second season. However, it seems her cat ended up not playing him and another cat was cast, Zeppelin. Nonetheless, the character of Alexis' new cat was given the name of Lucy's cat, Chowder.
