Around these parts there are several of us looking forward to this movie as if it were the event of the summer. Well, namely Foy and I. Finally we have the home video plans and even three incredibly bloody new stills for you to dig into!
From the Press Release
He's not your grandfather's Paul Bunyan, the powerful, cheerful lumberjack clearing fields to help build America. No, he's 15 feet and half a ton of brutality, and he's on the loose in Axe Giant: The Wrath Of Paul Bunyan. The award-winning creature feature slashes its way onto DVD from Virgil Films on June 18, 2013, wielding an Srp of $19.99.
Veteran horror film writer/producer/director Gary Jones (Boogeyman 3, Ghouls, Spiders) and writer/producer Jeff Miller (Hellblock 13, Ballistica) turn one of North America's legendary heroes into a monster who lets trees stand but has a thing about young people running around his forest.

DVD Active confirmed the suspicions none of us cared to have that there would indeed be a second direct-to-video Boogeyman film. Gary Jones, who brought us the memorable Ghouls (review), has been tasked with the challenge of making a budget DVD movie in Bulgaria. How could any of this go wrong?
"When college sophomore Sarah Morris witnesses the alleged suicide of her roommates, it sets into motion a series of horrific events that cause Sarah to fear the supernatural entity known as the Boogeyman. As she tries to convince the rest of her dorm that the Boogeyman does exist, the evil force grows stronger and her friends begin to pay the price. Now Sarah must stop this ultimate evil before the entire campus falls prey because the question isn’t whether or not the Boogeyman is going to get them…it’s How and When!"

Director/VFX Supervisor Gary Jones (Mosquito, Spiders) dropped me an email about Ghouls, his new film premiering on the Sci-Fi Channel this weekend. Sci-Fi must really be high on the film since I've seen ads hyping it as not just an original movie premiering, but as an "event".
Ghouls tells the tale of a college student (Kristen Renton, "Days of Our Lives") returning with her father (William Atherton, Die Hard, Ghostbusters) to his home country only to discover her family holds a dark secret that involves her.
It also involves some spectral ghouls that fly around attacking people, not all that dissimilar to the Dementors from the Harry Potter films, though I suspect the aftermath of one of their attacks is far more unpleasant.
Also starring in the Romanian-filmed fright flick from writer Brian D. Young (Kraken: Tentacles of the Deep) are James DeBello (Cabin Fever, Detroit Rock City) and...
