Most of the cars in Criminal Xing were purchased at police auctions.
Most of the film was shot with a three-man crew using an Arriflex 16mm BL camera. Jake Roquemore and Alberto Rodriguez behind the camera and Manny Hernandez in front of the camera, serving as stunt double, body double, or as a multitude of characters.
The film started off as a student project with several of the scenes used in class. It grew from that and to the surprise of the filmmakers, it got picked up for distribution.
On the cover art of the film, next to the title, there is a street sign with a figure holding a gun and a briefcase. This figure is actually DP Jake Roquemore. A picture was taken, and worked with in photoshop in order to create the sign.
