Jue Ji Lin Jie Tian Xia aka L.O.R.D Critical World is based on Guo Jingming's famous novel series, Jue Ji. I've watched this TV series two days after it's out which means 5 months ago. To be exact, I started to watch on 29th May 2019 and 10 days later, I've finished all. At that time when I've finished watching, there wasn't any title created on IMDB, so, I couldn't rate and write review. Just now, I've searched again and saw that this title is already created, and hence, I'm writing review now.
Most people don't like Jue Ji. So, they usually give very low rates. So, I think my honest review is going to get a lot of down votes. But, I don't blame them for giving me down votes. Different people have different loves and likes, so, I always consider that it was just different views on it in this kind of situation. And as for the rest, they don't like Jue Ji because of it's author, Guo Jingming. Guo Jingming has ranked one of the most hated person in China. So, his works also went down along with him. I don't care what other people think, as for me, I still like Jue Ji. I'm not that kind of not-like-his-or-her-work-because-of-the-author person. So, no matter what kind of person the author is, as long as he's not a murderer or criminal or it's readable, I still like the works.
Jue Ji is the first novel written in Chinese I've ever read. Maybe because of that reason, I like Jue Ji. Jue Ji is very interesting novel. The inside things are very complicated and interesting. So, I'd say Guo Jingming's creations are superb. I mean the first version, not the latest version of Jue Ji.
I've also watched the movie version and I loved it even though there are a lot of people who disliked it. (Moreover, I'm waiting for the next Jue Ji movie. It's so sad that they haven't released it yet.) So, when I saw they made the TV series version, I've immediately watched. In this TV series version, they have changed the plot a little, as usual. But for most parts, it made me feel different. Still, it's OK.
What I don't like the most is the names. They have changed the names of the countries and persons' names. They have shortened the names which made me very annoying, like Ji Er Jia Mei Shi into Ji Mei, Xi Liuer into Xi Liu and Xi Zhi Ya Si Lan Di Guo as Xuan Cang. The names Guo Jingming used in the novel are indeed very long, but it's beautiful and sexy. But when they changed into TV series version, they have altered and shortened the names which are very ugly and not attractive, sometimes, it's so annoying. That's why I totally hate it. If they have kept the original names, it'd be better.
What made me surprised is that they used a lot of opening sequences which made this TV series very different from the other ones, even unique. Most of the Chinese TV series have only one opening sequence, you know? Throughout the TV series, there's only one opening sequence and so, I always watched the opening sequence in the first episode just once, and then I skipped the opening sequence for the rest of episodes. And also, the end credit scenes. I totally love what they've done to end credit scenes. Those behind the scenes video clips are very interesting to watch. Because of those behind the scenes, we get to know how it was filmed. Thus, I always watch the end credit scene in every episode which I always skipped in the other TV series. Hence, I really love what they've done to opening sequences and end credit scenes.
One last thing I'd like to mention specially is that Jue Ji is NOT boys love (BL) based story. Some people think that Jue Ji is BL thing because there is a scene where Qi Ling hugged Yin Chen. But I assure you that it's not BL romance and the story isn't BL related one. So, for the love of God, please don't put this TV series/Jue Ji novel in BL related TV series/novel.
All in all, Jue Ji Lin Jie Tian Xia might be not everyone's taste, but as for me, it's very enjoyable. The special effects are amazing and also, it has totally surprised me. After Gu Jian Qi Tan which was released in 2014, this one is the first one with a lot of special effects I've ever watched since 2014. So, it's very surprised to see they've improved a lot in 5 years. Before I watched the show, I've never thought special effects will be this good. With everything considered, as for me, this TV series isn't the best one in my list (if they have kept the originals for which I don't like, it might be the best one in my list), it's very enjoyable and I've totally enjoyed.
