Filming took place at the Black Castle in Wicklow town. When walking around the area one day, Bobby Calloway was shown the place and got inspired to write the film.
Loosely inspired by a short story 'The Lady in the House of Love' by Angela Carter.
The Druid was not in the original draft of the script. Mikey Kane was just helping out on set and was asked to jump on camera to make the background look fuller.
The Soldier was scripted to wear a World War I officer's uniform (as a nod to the short story taking place during that war). Joseph Fuller who supplied costumes to the production suggested the red uniform instead - and the art director preferred it.
Brían Ó Súilleabháin was taking part in Movember and thus thought up the idea to give The Soldier a mustache.
