Stop hating on Amy Schumer. This show is lovely. It's funny, sad and well made. The acting is great. Also a big shout out to the girl who plays young Beth. Amy deserves more Credits.
People are so quick to judge Amy Schumer. Give her a chance. People evolve and grow. This isn't her usual material. I don't think I've seen this side of her. It's serious and somber mixed with dark dry humor. It seems more adult.
So for those wondering, its really *not* her usual raunchy shenanigans. It's a woman dealing with life's various traumas, with a different sense of humor.

Like everything else it's in-between. Not super funny but it is humorous at times. It's more thought provoking than funny. The first episode was a bummer until the end and now each episode has proved to move the story along nicely and you can connect with Beth. It's doing what I hoped, make me watch the next episode.
Although I don't relate to the situations at all I felt them. This is a very honest and raw experience and it was superbly delivered. The characters were perfect and it's as if you really got to know them. The pain and joy were so authentic and written perfectly. What a nice series!
Seriously is it your expectations were high and so you were disappointed? Or in a bad head space when you watched and couldn't get into it? Honestly idk how anyone could give this less than, say, a 6, by any metric - I don't understand people :/

- TriviaThere is no mention of John having autism in the first season of "Life & Beth," but Schumer says "he's most likely on the spectrum." The role of John was based on Schumer's real-life husband Chris Fischer, who was diagnosed a few years ago at age 39. The second season actually explores it.
