I admit I was skeptical during the first episode, which felt heavy handed with its use of narration, a bit gratuitous with some of the nudity, and a little too familiar with its stories of female sexuality. But I'm really glad I stuck with the show beyond that episode, because it turned out to be a deep and thoughtful character study of flawed, but very relatable and/or intriguing characters. As the series went on I continually went back and forth over which storyline I found most compelling, but now having seen all 10 episodes, I can honestly say I didn't have a favorite because they were all so interesting. The performances by all the leads were also exceptional and even the lesser known supporting cast really shined throughout. I highly recommend this series to anyone who's interested in great storytelling, complex characters, and terrific acting.
Interesting - slow at the beginning - favourite character is Lina.followed by Sloane - Gia is just all over the place , Maggie is young and foolish and trying to regain her self respect. The male characters in this seem very much secondary at least it would seem so at the beginning , but okay a very real role moving forward. If you can get over the first few or so episodes you will invest in the rest of the show.. this is. It something I would usually watch, but it intrigued me from what others were saying and talking about. In parts it's quite raw, emotional, sexual, bouncing from hot to cold.
What could you possibly write about this series besides wetness, screaming, moaning, hurting and "distasteful" peak sensations of the senses and faces. It is too weird slow with super uninteresting conversations and happenings, with good acting though, but failing to really grab viewers' attention.
You make a series, you want it impactful, enjoyable by both genders, so with that story, make it at least a sixteen episode one that slowly but surly unfolds with a real ending.

A series about women, for women, and which I understand is supposed to have some kind of feminist perspective. How could they have missed something as basic as the fact that none of the many long sex scenes contain anything other than penetration? The men in the series act like teenagers in the bed.
Complete absence of caresses, hands and tongue. Are the creators familiar with something called the clitoris?
Otherwise, its an ok show but nothing rememberable. It feels slow and i find the storyline about the writer booring. Linas character and storyline is the only one which feels more interesting.

After 3 episodes we unfortunately fell off this show. We liked the first episode and the show is filled with a lot of talented actresses, the second episode was brilliantly acted but not that convincing in regards of pacing and script and already boringly sex focussed. With the third episode it really delves into mommy porn territory and we really failed to see the depth and were really bored.
I am sure there will be some great parts in the rest of the episodes but we are too old and ununterested in drawn out and rather explicit sex scenes.
It is great to see Gilpin being given material to really work with but i guess a show about the sexual lifestyle of 3 US women is just not our cup of tea.

- TriviaIt is speculated that the reason behind Showtime's decision to drop airing the series was concerns regarding its graphic sexual content, as the network was going through a content re-evaluation by its parent company Paramount at the time. In February 2023, Starz bought the rights to the series from Showtime and ended up airing the show on September 2024.
