By now, it has become an inevitable fact that Himesh Reshammiya is a braveheart in whatever he dabbles himself into. You may not like him and he may not feature on your favourite actor list, but certainly, you cannot ignore him. Whenever Himesh Reshammiya stars in a film, it's got to be a musical and Happy Hardy and Heer is no exception.
Happy Hardy and Heer is a slice of life rom-com that takes you back to the times when simple stories were the order of the day with ordinary-looking people and their not too complex issues and problems. The film rests on a thin storyline (Himesh Reshammiya). Director Raka makes a sincere attempt but his striking direction is let-down by a boringly monotonous screenplay - written by Himesh Reshammiya's wife Sonia Kapoor Reshammiya - ranging from interesting to mundane to yawn-inducing. The USP, decidedly, is Himesh Reshammiya's musical score but how one wishes the super music was complemented by an equally superior script. Additionally, Happy Hardy and Heer doesn't rise to entertaining levels for two reasons. One, too many songs interlaced in the narrative. Two, the pace dips and the plot loses the steam after a point to the hilt.
Though Happy Hardy and Heer rests on a fragile plot, with the writing holding your interest at places, there are been-there-seen-that kind of situations aplenty and the narrative is laced with too many songs. Whether or not the situation warrants them, you have one track ready to unspool every now and then.
Directorially, Raka has avoided going over the top and remains faithful to the subject but he's handicapped by a sketchy screenplay. He cannot do much given the fact that there's no novelty at all. Overall, his direction is impressive. Himesh Reshammiya's music is expectedly top-notch. All the tracks are lilting compositions as well. Chandan Kowli's cinematography is perfect.
Himesh Reshammiya seems thoroughly dedicated to his craft and the composer/singer/actor goes that extra mile to get the role right. He has grown as an actor and that reflects in several moments of the film. Sonia Mann is completely natural. She looks alluring and acts well. Her confident portrayal stands out. Naresh Suri is impressive. Manmeet Singh is good. Deep Mandeep is perfect. Ashwin Dhar, Sejal Shah and Trupti Khamkar lend able support.
On the whole, Happy Hardy and Heer does appeal in bits and spurts but not in totality. The film isn't bad, but it isn't great either. Though it has a hit score to its credit, it won't work at the box-office. Flop!

This movie is extremely funny and has truly unique aspects. It is entertaining and fairly enjoyable. Try this Bollywood entertainment, preferably with your family or friends, so that it may elevate your level of enjoyment of it.
Let me say this upfront. This is not a great movie. But this love triangle is quiet enjoyable and the characters did justice to their roles. First let me talk about negative aspects. Although couple of songs are good, they are not necessary for the story and could have been skipped completely. Also like many other movies, you will be frustrated on why Happy, the main character, is not confessing his love for half of the movie. Now the good thing is that it is quiet unpredictable. The way the characters confess their love and the sacrifice they do to make sure that the one they love is happy, is quiet remarkable. I have not seen story like this ever before. If SRK or Ranveer would have been main caste, then this movie would have done wonders. But the prejudice people have about Himesh is what causing this not to be a successful movie.
So enjoy it without prejudice.

Good movie to watch for after a long time period return of himesh reshamiya in films and wonderful laughter at all.
The humor is great, although some of my friends complained of it being a bit dry, you need an open mind to enjoy it and look beyond the obvious. The songs are beautiful too.
A light-hearted movie which you'll enjoy to the fullest with the family & friends. There are many such little enjoyable lines throughout the movie which will make you keep going with this movie.
We laughed with it, loved it, because he created the characters who we could relate. You look around, these characters are in one of your friends. It is humor in pure form! It will brighten you up, no matter how grumpy you may be feeling! I think this is one of the loveliest movies of the year. Pure, unadulterated fun.

A movie that displays the Love and Friendship in the way it is just hard to come by in Bollywood and here Raka comes up with a wonderful script and screenplay and the audience will have to just sit back and enjoy the magic getting unfolded on the screen.

One Of The Finest Rom-Com Movie Bollywood Had Ever Brought. I enjoyed it then and I enjoyed it today. It's a romantic comedy done right. Fresh faces, fresh approach, fast pace, great side characters, and good music. All these aspects make a great romcom. This is one of them.
The love-hate balance between the three lends itself well keeping you stuck to the movie until the big reveal right in the final moments of the movie. The tie up at the end is perfect and leaves you satisfied. The music is excellent with the appropriate genres played when needed.

It Endorses the relationship values which are fast disappearing in today's world. Reaffirms that if you love or work sincerely, without expecting anything in return, you may truly get what you set out to achieve. Great combination of love and laugh.

The dialogs are sparkling despite being mature. The funny moments are truly funny and emotions look absolutely real. U immediately relate to them.

I have grown up watching so many Hindi flicks, which invariably are love stories, by the way. However, there is something different about Happy Hardy & Heer which sets it apart from the usual stuff. It is fresh, young and full of Comedy Romance something which is missing these days.

One of the finest Romantic comedy love stories to come out of Indian Cinema. Hats off to Raka Sen. A simple story told in the most interesting and enjoyable manner.

A gem of a movie
It's a fun-filled romantic comedy. The movie is realistic enough - contrary to what some of the obtuse commentators have posted already. and definitely a complete whole structure. minor glitches notwithstanding, it's a delightfully entertaining and heartwarming movie. The story just lifts you up and you're hooked.

It later turns into a mini-drama but still in a natural way with a lot of comedy and fun. The music is great and each song contributes to the film's mood in its own way. Excited for Ranu Mondal too.
