150 reviews
It picks up and is fun starting with episode 3. Wanda and Mike Epps exchanging zingers are the worth waiting for. It's fun, give it a chance.

After the debacle called dad stop embarassing me (jamie fox) it was refreshing to finally have a good comedy with a cast who knows how to bring jokes over to the public and this is 50%thanks to the writers of this show.
People do not believe the negative reviews of trolls, this is definetely not o bad show and will be even better in the second season.
Give it a chance.

This show is surprisingly very funny with relatable content. With a star-studded cast, everyone is holding their weight and all equally funny. Even the child actors are great! Which I hardly see in newer sitcoms. Very great show.
A comedy that's actually funny, I'm here for it! Epps and Sykes steal the show, they have great banter and keep the laughs rolling. Storylines are fairly well developed and the acting is decent.

Mike Epps , Wanda Sykes, and Kim Fields fit together so well and play off one another so well. The cast is great. I've watched it two times already, Three Heavyweights who know how to flow with the writing and cadence of each other will create something fantastic, please watch this show, its great.
Wanda Sykes and Kim Fields are great as sisters in this series. Mike Epps offers some funny moments as the always scheming husband. Overall, it's a light, fun watch.
This is really a great show! Very funny and experienced actors/comedians at their best. Check it out!!
I didn't have high hopes for this, however it was really good, tackled some great issues and wasn't overrun with ridiculous comedy.

It's not great.
The laugh tracks, for one. Do they really need to be in every single line? Most of the things they say are seriously unfunny.
Secondly, Regina's "pouting" face every time she tries to get someone to do something. It's incredibly annoying.
The kids don't know how to act, there are way too many Black stereotypes to be even remotely funny, and overall, it's just... predictable.
The only thing I actually sort of liked about this was the 'banter' between Lucretia and Bennie. But, it got a little repetitive and I could almost feel the insults coming after a while.
I don't know. Wanda Sykes: great actress. But to be honest, this was disappointing.

I really tried to like this because I like the actors individually. But this is garbage.
Let me start with the kids. Beyond irky. Maya and Aaliyah have no acting skills at all, they both talk and act annoying. The two sons, Kelvin and Bernard are about the only normal ones on the show and you don't even see them that much. Lucretia (Sykes) and Bernard (Epps) are so disrespectful towards each other that it's not even funny. Regina (Fields) acting is not believable. The lady Sheila smiles like a Cheshire Cat and her voice his ridiculous and she doesn't even sound like that for real. The guys in the shop are just dumb acting. Oh and the baby mama Tasha (Dennis) is doing such a disservice to her acting. I've seen her in other things and loved her.
Netflix cancels all the shows we seem to love after a season or two and leave us without a proper ending. But this is the mess they keep. SMH. Watch at your own risk. Very cringey.

The actors all took a step forward and seemed to grow into their characters in Season 2. However, the writing itself seemed to take a very noticeable hit from the level we enjoyed in Season 1. If there's a Season 3, I hope they bring back Mitchell Marchand as the Executive Story Editor. I think contributions from him and Annie Levine were part of what made the show so enjoyable.
I don't understand why this doesn't have at least a 7+ rating, it super funny, the cast is awesome, Wanda and Mike chemistry is perfect! Hoping for a season 2.

It feels like this show only could work on Netflix, and challenge the status quo that most sitcoms have. Especially about sitcoms with dead beat husbands that constantly gaslight and take advantage of their spouse.
The things he does to his wife would never fly by in real life. So for his wife to have the final straw in the middle of the season, it hits too close to home.
I'm curious to see where this show goes.
Plus, it's legitimately funny lol.

This show is hilarious and Kim Fields looks like she hasn't aged at all. All the actors are great and I hope it gets renewed for a second season. Definitely worth your time.

Ok. I wasn't for the first 2 episodes. The baby mama drama was so "typical" and a negative stereotype (yes most have truth to them). Oh and I really don't like the way they family treats Kelvin. He has nothing to do with the parents"situation". After that, they addressed important family / relationship issues. Thus saving it for me. I watched all10 episodes in one seating. I enjoyed it.
This show is such garbage and that's sad with the amount of talent in this show, minus Mike Epps. I'm so sick and tired of black shows nowadays being full of every negative stereotype we protest against, exaggerated acting and a predictable storyline. Every episode is full of it. Five seasons in and it's only getting worse. Also Mike Epps is annoying and talentless. I hate these new shows which is why I still watch the older ones, moesha, family matters etc. And no this is not a troll, this is an angry black woman sick of this garbage being thrown out. Mike Epps character is a complete and total selfish ignorant, lying idiot. Why would we celebrate a character like his when the black community is already suffering in part due to a lack of decent black men? Why are we not producing shows with better influences? It's not even entertaining because the acting is so forced and every episode is predictable. Terrible, just terrible!

It is hard to tell what to expect when Netflix is coming out with a show like this, and we could argue that they do leave us hanging from time to time, but this show was IT for me.
It's light hearted, but tackles serious and relatable problems, and questions. Most surprisingly for me, it's not always Mike Epps & Wanda Skyes, the other actors - including the children! - are just as well factored in.
I had a really great time watching all 10 episodes, not equally good of course... but good nonetheless, in my opinion.

I can not belive that such good actors agreed to be in such a trash show!!! Mike Epps character was deplorable and the entire show was bafoonery.

There's a 50/50 chance Netflix shows are funny or you just hear a laugh track louder than the dialogue. But, I actually giggled and may laughed every episode like it's on cable TV. If you love Mike Epps or Wanda Sykes works, you'll definitely be comfortable with this series.

Good cast . Fun lines . Sure it is canned laughter but the jokes are funny .
Not reliant on race jokes or politics which is nice .

If you love Bob❤'s Abishola and The Neighborhood, then this show is for you! It's real and relatable. It's new and refreshing. Its good representation and a more realistic view of the world. Love it! I found out about this show just maybe 5 hours ago, I've already finished season 1(dont worry no spoliers), I need season 2 ASAP!
