The entire show was shot over the course of Summer 2019, with reshoots being done in Summer 2020. Post Production was a precarious process as Crocker was working from London, England while Pickette and Borelli were working from their University Campuses in Chicago, IL with the VFX Supervisor Dakota Smith working from his house in Pheonix, AZ. The 2020 Lockdown ended up delaying the release of the show by a number of months as the post team scrambled to nail down logistics at such a tenuous time.
The concept and format of When Night Stands Fast was to allow each of the shows creators Owen Pickette, Ben Crocker, and Nick Borelli and opportunity to Write, Direct, and Edit an episode.
Actor Madison Monahan shares a last name with the main antagonist of the show, Dr. Monaghan. While this was merely a coincidence, the creators took it as a sign when her name appeared on the casting call.
The production of the show took place in the creators home town of Belmont, MA. Noteable locations from the area include the Waverly Train Station, Belmont Hill School, and Winslow Homer House (Belmont Women's Club).
