Seventeen-year-old Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) moves from sunny Phoenix, Arizona, to the rainy little town of Forks, Washington to live with her father, Police Chief Charlie Swan (Billy Burke). When she begins her junior year in high school, she is paired in biology lab with the lovely but mysterious Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), who at first seems to dislike her immensely but later becomes her love interest. However, Edward is not like other people. He is impossibly fast and strong, his skin is pale white and ice cold, his eyes change color, he doesn't eat or drink anything, and he doesn't go out in the sunlight. As they become closer and closer, Bella learns that Edward is a 108-year-old vampire, unique among vampires because he doesn't drink human blood. Still, being near Bella is difficult on him, and he constantly fears that their relationship puts Bella and those close to her at risk. When a pack of blood-thirsty vampires fixate on Bella, Edward's worst fear comes true.

Twilight (2005) is a novel by American author Stephenie Meyer. It is first in a series of four books, collectively known as the Twilight Saga. The novel was adapted for the movie by American screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg. Twilight the movie was followed by The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009), The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010), The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 (2011), and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 (2012).

There are several. The starring vampire in Twilight is Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson). The Cullen family consists of two vampire adults, Dr Carlisle Cullen (Peter Facinelli) and his wife Esme (Elizabeth Reaser), and their vampire foster children-Edward, plus Alice (Ashley Greene) and Emmet (Kellan Lutz) Cullen and the supposed twins Rosalie (Nikki Reed) and Jasper (Jackson Rathbone) Hale. There are also three nomadic vampires (vampires that roam rather than taking up permanent residence)-Laurent (Edi Gathegi), James (Cam Gigandet), and Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre).

Rosalie and Jasper Hale share the same last name as a ruse. Carlisle decided he would pass Jasper and Rosalie off as twins with the last name of "Hale" because of the relationships between Jasper and Alice and between Rosalie and Emmett. If Rosalie and Jasper shared the name "Cullen" while they are supposed to be dating their counterparts, it would just draw all the more attention to them. Also, Rosalie has the hardest time dealing with the fact that she is not human, and "Hale" is her real last name, which she desired to keep. In the book it says that humans thought that Rosalie and Jasper looked alike, so they decided to act as twins and Rosalie refused to give up her last name and made Jasper Whitlock become Jasper Hale.

Bella's mother Renee (Sarah Clarke) and father Charlie divorced, and Bella was living with her mom in Phoenix. Then, her mother remarried Phil (Matthew Bushell), a pro-baseball player who was always on the road. Bella decided to give them their freedom and move to Forks, Washington in order to spend some time with her father.

Forks is a small town on the western side of the Olympic National Park on the Olympic Peninsula of the state of Washington. However, most of the movie was shot at various places in the state of Oregon.

When she was younger, Bella had spent her summers visiting her father, so mostly everyone in Forks who knew Charlie also knew Bella. Charlie also announced Bella's arrival to a few people, e.g., the Blacks. Since Forks is a small town, the news spread and most people knew about her coming. Edward knows to call her Bella because he hears her nickname in everybody's minds.

No. The vampires of the Twilight universe are very different from traditional ones you've seen in many other books and movies. Twilight vampires drink blood and are immortal like any other vampire, but they don't have fangs. The Cullens and one other coven, the Denali clan, choose to drink animal blood instead of human blood. Their teeth are sharp enough to cut through the skin and drain the blood from their prey, and all of their teeth are full of the venom that transforms humans into vampires, so they don't need fangs at all. Twilight vampires are not allergic to garlic or silver, their reflections can be seen in a mirror, and they show up in pictures.They don't sleep, and their bodies are pale, cold and hard. They don't age or change at all. This means women vampires can't have babies. These unique vampires are unbelievably strong and fast. They have great senses and abilities. Some of these vampires have special gifts or skills. For example, Edward can read minds, and Alice can see the future. They're very graceful and attractive to humans. Emmett was a weightlifter in his (previous) life, so he retained that strength as a vampire. They are the world's most dangerous predators. They can't get killed with a stake through the heart or by exposure to the sun. They can actually go out in the sun, but their skin shines like it was made of crystals; consequently, they don't go out into direct sunlight, as it would mark them as different. The only way to kill a Twilight vampire is to tear him or her into pieces and burn them. There are many other details that make Twilight vampires non-traditional, but these are the most important.

Parts of the Twilight story are based on a dream that Stephenie Meyer had. In her dream, the vampire sparkled in the sun. She included this detail when she transcribed her dream, and wove it into the storyline as she turned the account of her dream into the novel. The pseudoscientific reason as to why sunlight makes vampires' skin sparkle is stated in her website: They appear to have skin like ours, albeit very fair skin. The skin serves the same general purpose of protecting the body. However, the cells that make up their skin are not pliant like our cells, they are hard and reflective like crystal. The hard and reflective cells of the skin of the vampires is what gives them strong, unbreakable skin and the "sparkling" effect from the sunlight. It also works well as a plot device that adds to the mystique of the vampires. In most vampire stories, sunlight kills vampires; in some, it does not. For example, the original Count Dracula (in Bram Stoker's novel) was not harmed by sunlight and could go about the town during the day. In the Twilight world that Meyer created, sunlight won't kill a vampire, but what it does to their skin would attract a lot of attention and potentially expose them to the general public.

The book describes vampire skin as beautiful "diamonds". Fans complained that the movie seems like they just threw glitter on his body and shined a light on it or like the vampire was sweating excessively. There have also been complaints about the noise that comes off when their skin shines, which is not mentioned in the book. Fans don't believe that was the best way to go about showing up what the Cullen's skin does in light.

Lovingly referred to as Vitamin R, Rainier beer has been brewed in Seattle since the late 19th century (except during the Prohibition). The brewing company has gone through many owners over the years, finally ending up under Pabst ownership. Pabst closed it in 1999 and sold the Rainier brand to the Olympia Brewing Company in Turnwater, Washington. Olympia closed in 2003. Rainier beer is currently being brewed in California.

The Cullens are a tightly-knit family, and each one has a mate—Carlisle and Esme, Emmett and Rosalie, Jasper and Alice. Only Edward is alone and has been alone for almost a century, depressed and dark his entire life. When the family realized that Edward had finally found someone he wanted to be with and saw that Bella revived him, they couldn't bear the thought of how he would be affected should he lose Bella, so they rallied together to welcome and protect her.

Rosalie explains when Bella comes to meet the family the first time: "The entire family will be implicated if this ends badly"—"badly" referring to the possibility that Bella could become the meal or draw attention to the fact that they are vampires. In the novel, however, Rosalie's backstory explains further that Rosalie's pride was hurt when Edward wasn't taken with her beauty. Though she now loves Emmett, she is still a bit upset that Edward has fallen for a human after not falling for her. She's also dismayed that Bella has chosen to become a vampire when she herself hates the fact that she was made a vampire, which meant she could never have children.

Stephenie Meyer has clearly stated that the venom has no effect on the human body unless it gets into the bloodstream. Bella and Edward's kisses are fairly chaste; they do not "French" kiss. Although Bella occasionally gets quite passionate, Edward is extremely careful not to cut Bella with his incredibly sharp teeth or the venom would get into her bloodstream.

Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) has a crush on Bella, though it is not as obvious in the movie as it is in the book, which leads to much of his dislike of—and glares directed at—Edward. Billy Black (Gil Birmingham), Jacob's father, believes strongly in the Quileute (pronounce QUILL-yute) Indian legends that say Edward and his family are Apotamkin, "the cold ones," aka vampires. He is also angry at Edward for pursuing a relationship with Bella, especially because Bella's father is Billy's best friend.

A vampire's diet is revealed by the color of their eyes. The Cullens only eat animal blood and therefore have gold eyes, whereas vampires that drink human blood have red eyes. When they haven't eaten in a while, their eyes will be black.

When Bella awakens from her ordeal with James, she is in the hospital, Renée at her side and Edward in a chair, feigning sleep. Bella claims not to remember anything that happened, so Renée tells her how Edward and his dad came down from Forks to persuade her to return, and when Bella went to see them at their hotel, she tripped, fell down two flights of stairs, broke her leg, went through a window, and lost a lot of blood. When Renée leaves to get Charlie, who's waiting in the hospital cafeteria, Edward "wakes up". He tells Bella that they took care of James and that Victoria ran off. Then he lowers the boom. He wants Bella to move to Jacksonville with her mother so that she can't be hurt anymore by her association with him. Bella refuses. She moves back to Forks with her dad. With her leg still in a cast, Bella attends the prom with Edward. When Edward goes off to park the car, Jacob sits down next to Bella. He tells her that Billy wants her to break up with Edward and that he sent a warning: "We'll be watching you." Bella laughs. Later, as Bella and Edward dance in the gazebo, she asks him why he didn't let her turn after she was bitten by James. "If you just let the venom spread," she says, "I could be like you by now." She informs him that she's made the decision to be with him forever and offers him her neck. Edward bends over to bite her neck but ends up simply kissing it. "Is it not enough just to have a long and happy life with me?", he asks. "For now," Bella replies. In the final scene, Victoria looks down at the gazebo and watches Bella and Edward kissing and dancing. She turns away, lets down her hair, and smiles to herself.

Yes. Stephenie Meyer appears in the diner scene toward the middle of the movie. Before the camera focuses on Bella and her father Charlie, the waitress serves a veggie plate to a lady at the counter, calls her "Stephenie", and says that she hopes the killer of Charlie's friend is found.
