On Wednesday 28 October 2020, BBC Daytime announced that they have commissioned Remarkable Television to produce a 30-episode second series of the cookery programme to be filmed and broadcast in 2021.
On Tuesday, 7 September 2021, BBC One officially confirmed that the rebooted daytime cookery competition would not be returning for a third series. A spokesperson for the broadcaster stated "We sometimes have to make difficult decisions to grow new shows and after two brilliant series of Ready Steady Cook, we're making space in the schedule for some exciting new titles that we're sure viewers will enjoy. We are hugely grateful to Rylan and our team of chefs for making the return of the series so special."
