A new topic raised in the world of hindi entertainment, a modern day issue tried to tie up with a Romcom. Although the romance part executed good but the movie lacks in comedy aspect, perhaps the story would have been more funny and engaging if they have done more with the 'package'. They could've included the two goons and two cops more and link them with the main character and do some situational comedy or more jokes. Almost everyone performed their roles well. Overall a Time pass movie and nothing else.
When the trailer of this film released, I'm excited to watch this film because of some new and unique story. I think this is the first time when someone has shown this type of story on the digital platform.
But I am telling you the film story is not good. The story does not interact with you and not feels the emotion of the Karan while watching. Ali Fazal, Barkha Singh, and Shriya Pilgaonkar's performance are excellent in the film.
The direction is also good, but If the story were written well, then this film would be worth watching. You can watch this film for Time Pass if you want.

This film had no story or purpose. I was hoping there would be some great twist in the end, honestly it was a waste of time.
Ali fazal was too cute to watch. Didn't expect to like this movie but actually did. Was smiling in the end and also laughed. Acting was spot on.
Dialogues suck, acting sucks, script sucks, everything sucks
Ali Fazal's self imposed house arrest and results into a comedy of errors upon unwanted arrivals of a mysterious package and a journalist.
It's a neat comedy displaying fine nuances of acting by Ali Fazal. He really gets you into the psyche of a person who is happy and occupied with his solitary confinement in his artistically done apartment and absolutely doesn't wish to go out or entertain a guest!
Jim Sarbh is at his bohemian best and Shriya Pilgaonkar's subtle presence stands out amidst the other restless and/or loud characters.

After watching drive last week I was very reluctant to watch another Indian flick on Netflix.... But really this one made me affirm in my decision that next time I am not going to watch any Indian Netflix release.... This really sucks in every aspect.... No story, no purpose actually to make this a feature film and I am sure the whole production team was really high when they produce this garbage... Do not ruin your weekend...

It's a nice film to watch but I think thrill is missing in here. Ali Fazal acting is damaging amazing. Overall I felt good watching this Netflix original film. You should also watch it with your someone special.

Don't even look at the negative reviews if you like movies with some aesthetic element.
I don't understand any of these negative reviews tagging this movie "Garbage" lol. These are the people who admire movies like Race 3 and all, the typical Bollywood cliched over exaggerated dramatic crap.
Yeah, this movie might look slow and dull to some of us, which indeed actually might be the case but I think that's the beauty of the film. MINIMALISM.
This movie presented nothing new except for this term, "Hikikomori" which personally I was already aware of because of this anime series on this guy who was a Hikikomori I watched. (Welcome to the NHK is the name). BUT the way it was presented makes it beautiful. Not anyone can present a simple script with this beauty. AND The concept, this whole House Arrest thing wasn't new either. BUT for a lot of us in India, this was new. AND the people who are commenting negative stuff are the ones who cannot "tolerate" the "beauty" of concepts like this. They are like, "There's nothing good about the movie except for the house... Why the hell is everything shot in one house.. and bla bla bla." Like seriously? Can people be this dumb to not understand the purity of a film?
Yeah it lacked comedy somewhere between the beginning and the middle. But the closure being beautiful made me forget everything else. Yeah it was cliched (or maybe predictable at places), but the way it was presented wasn't.
I'd have given it 9/10 or even 8/10, but I'd rather give it a 10 for the ATTEMPT. Such movies should be made to get people out of their COMFORT DRAMATIC movie zone.
Also, the cinematography was beautiful. (Won't spoil it for you but some shots and the methods used to portray them were really beautiful) Acting: 10/10. Ali did justice to his role, and Shriya was absolutely fantastic too. Barkha and the two other artist were the only comical/ funky characters in the film trying to establish a comedy angle, which indeed was kinda weird but it was not just digestible but even admirable at places.
The romance was so beautifully shot and portrayed. Comedy should have been a lot better but then again maybe it would have made the movie lose the simplicity it has now.
So, like I said, full points for the effort!

Why this movie even made, I bet you can't tolerate even 5 minutes. There is no plot, no comedy & no direction.

Basically a very short story has been expanded to make a movie. But the good part is that this movie is completely built on dialogues and communication between people and not melodrama type. So if you expect some huge plot twist, then definitely this movie is not for you.

In Japan it's tradition of going self isolation for few months with disconnecting socially in a room self imposed isolation k own as Hirikomori. Indian guy (Faisal acted) tries it to overcome stress gloom in Indian condition. His neibour is daughter of a Mafia and she is escorted by a bouncer as well. Her happy go lucky attitudes do creat Comedy. 9 months have passed. There enters a young woman (shriya daughter of Sachin actor) All possible mix ups with couriers and a funny suitcase containing a human body that happens to be a kidnapped guy, mix ups, hide seek comedy material does not klik as pace slows down a lot. An attempt to give new idea ok.

The only that's good in the movie is the house where it was shot.
Nothing is worth talking.
I thought this movie was a little interesting but still a little stupid. The idea of the lead as to not wanting to get out of the house was left unclear. But it was just a light hearted time pass movie to watch when you're bored. A little unconventional like maybe all indian Netflix movies are. A few characters were hell irritating . But overall the movie was funny to look at and a good one to pass your time.

A hindi movie that pretends in its trailer to be a thriller and end up being a meaningless romantic comedy.
Too long.
There is nothing interesting or never seen before in the story.
The film is completely cyclical and nothing happens in the plot, nor in the end.
Pretentious
The motivations for why he stays home are good but that's about it in the movie.
It's about a man who has been locked up in his house for 9 months, his neighbor gives him a suitcase to keep with a man inside and a girl gets to avoid an interview and that happens in two hours of film, there is not much to see after that .
Movie is nice. Light hearted. Really liked it.
Story not that great. But felt good after watching.

If you're here for a light romantic comedy in Hindi, this is not it. My only takeaway from this was the beautiful tidy house. Nothing else works!
Sigh.. I wish I could get back the time I wasted watching this, but I guess I can try to save yours 🙈
Thank me later!
