Mad House

1 review
10/10

Fresh take on a tired genre.

This film is a dark comedy/horror/found footage/house hostage movie. The found footage will put most people off, far enough. It tends to be a pretty lazy genre, I can count the number of good found footage films on one had and still have fingers left over.

Mad House is the exception to the rule. What makes this film stand out is the incredible performance from the lead drug addicts. The actors' breath a level of depth and nuanced you wouldn't be expecting in kind of film and I dare say you kind of even care of them by the end despite all the horrific acts they commit over the film because you understand them. It's also a hot funnier than it looks it's a comedy straight from the black heart of hell.

The only thing going against it is that it takes a good 10-15 minutes to warm up. That's around the point most people will be switich it off, but stick with it.
