They were really struggling to keep 'The X Factor' on the air by this point, returning to the 'celeb' format that Simon Cowell had previously said they'd never do again.
It was fine, it was amiable enough, but it did feel like celebs (in the loosest sense of the word) 'playing' at being on the once great show, rather than this being a genuine contest.

What a joke! Not only has 'normal' X factor become very edited and incredibly false but this is just a circus!
Vinnie Jones sadly lost his wife, which is just awful, but then the show decides to film what was supposed to be Simon Cowell sending his condolences and turn it into a publicity stunt,
It's just embarrassingly bad!
A good laugh though if you want to see something that is comically terrible!
Some of the performances on this show are outstanding, yet it seems the best performances are rewarded with eviction, while the worst performers are continually kept in the show either because they are friends with Simon Cowell, or because they happened to perform early enough in the show to get the safe seat. With shows like this the final result of who is evicted should be cut and dry: the worst performer is out. Otherwise, the viewer gets a horrible feeling in their gut. It should at least be close! Martin Bashir is awful every week. He's unemployable in the real world, but keeps getting saved BY THE JUDGES over amazing, showstopping contestants. This doesn't normally happen on the XFactor but it obviously is this year because Simon is biased. If Martin had come on to the regular XFactor, unknown to Simon Cowel, Simon would have read him to filth and evicted him well before the live shows. Here, he selfishly keeps him while sending home contestants who've worked their balls off, simply because he likes Bashir as a person. That alone makes this show trash and I'm not going to watch it any more.
This show I must say is completely awful, barely many good acts on with many if not almost all I have never heard of. It's no wonder the ratings for this are suffering badly and don't get me started on making a rival show going against Little Mix because we the British don't want to listen to this dross anymore. This is a show that seriously needs retiring.
Firstly i should point out i don't consider someone going on love island or a online influencer as celebrities. I find most reality TV garbage, so most of these people may as well be working at wall-mart for what i knew about them. I also get into this type of show by rooting for someone, after watching episode 1 couldn't care less who wins or loses. So this was a huge miss for me and won't be watching anymore of it
