- Malcolm McDowell: [talking about the conception of the character of Caligula] We kind of came up with this thing that he was an anarchist, that he was destroying the Roman Empire from the top. Sound familiar?
- Self: Interviewee: [talking about the inclusion of nudity] For 'Valley Girl', it was simply a distribution deal necessity.
- Martha Coolidge: Atlantic Releasing said it when I met with them, and they said, "Well, you know, we've made them agree you're going to show naked breasts in four scenes in this movie. Is that a problem for you?" And I said, "No. Is it a problem if I do it whatever way I think of?" And they said, "No, we don't care how we see 'em, we just wanna see 'em."
- Malcolm McDowell: [talking about the release of 'Caligula' after it been spliced together with scenes of unsimulated sex] I hated it because, you know, somewhere when you watch that movie, you realise there is really a wonderful movie here, that's been sort of hijacked by Bob Guccione, who was the publisher of Penthouse. But he had absolutely no taste, and all you had to do was look at his magazine to figure that out!
- Self: Interviewee: Probably twenty minutes after they invented film, somebody thought. Wouldn't it be neat if we started photographing naked people. and so I think that there has been nudity ever since the early days. In fact, we could say there was nudity ion film from before there were film.
- Self: Interviewee: Nudity is never gonna go away. It's something we're always fascinated by. I think it's educational.
- Malcolm McDowell: Do I know what the plot is of Caligula? I haven't got a fuckin idea! It's a fascinating part of Roman history.
- Self: Interviewee: None of us are excited about why we have come to the forefront, we are all thrilled to be a part of the solution.
- Self: Interviewee: So the double edge in show business is you want to be attractive enough that people want you to be naked, you know, but you want to work with people who aren't gonna abuse it.
- Erica Gavin: [talking about shooting a lesbian sex scene in the Russ Meyer film, 'Vixen'] Russ was down on the floor, "Give it to her, yeah!", pounding the floor like this... and then he goes, "Cut! Lunch! I've gotta change my shorts."
