CBS is scheduled to air another brand new set of episodes for their rebooted, classic game show Hollywood Squares tonight, February 19, 2025, and they will feature celebrities Ross Mathews, Whitney Cummings and more. Tonight's new episodes are the 13th and 14th installments for this current, premiere season 1. According to CBS' official episodes 13 and 14 press release, they do have a title attached to them. Episode 13 is titled, "A Little Doggy Gave It to Me." Episode 14 is named, "You Like Granny Panties." Episode 13 will feature the following celebrities that are showing up in the squares: actress Tichina Arnold, actress Beth Behrs, comedian/actress Whitney Cummings, Tony Gonzalez, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, TV host Ross Mathews, comedian/actor Kevin Nealon and comedian Aida Rodriguez.

John Mulaney took the “Saturday Night Live” 50th anniversary special on a five-decade journey through the ups and downs of the show’s New York City home base. Starting with the 1975 birth of the series, Mulaney’s star-studded medley began with convincing former cast members Pete Davidson and David Spade that the grimy 1970s was still a glorious time to live in New York.

From there, it was a decade-by-decade look at the city, with Adam Driver dressed as a hot dog, Kate McKinnon showing up as a disgraced former mayor Rudy Giuliani and Scarlett Johansson dressed as Audrey from “Little Shop of Horrors,” joking about real-life husband Colin Jost. For a U-rated animated comedy, Dog Man has a surprisingly dark beginning. Indeed, it’s basically RoboCop, only instead of a cop and a robot, it’s a cop and his pet police dog (both voiced by Hastings). There’s a zillion reasons why news stories suddenly spike on the internet, not least given that much comes down to Google deciding when to wave its magic wand. Still, on this site at least, one of the stories that’s really spiked has been the news that Guy Ritchie is shooting a film called Wife & Dog this year.

As we reported here, Ritchie has brought together a cast that includes Benedict Cumberbatch, Rosamund Pike and Anthony Hopkins. The subject matter doesn’t sound too far away from that of The Gentlemen, with basically posh and well-resourced people stabbing each other in the back.

Ritchie has penned the script, and has just started shooting Wife & Dog as well. Production got underway in the UK this very week.

Cosmo Jarvis, Benedict Cumberbatch, Rosamund Pike and Anthony Hopkins were earlier announced for the movie that sees Ritchie return to the colorful, back-stabbing world of the British aristocracy. Ritchie also wrote the screenplay and he produces alongside long-time partner Ivan Atkinson (The Gentlemen, Wrath of Man) and Black Bear’s John Friedberg.

Norton as a diverse film and TV actor appeared in the BAFTA-nominated role as Tommy Lee Royce in the BBC series Happy Valley. Considine had a breakthrough role in the 1999 film A Room for Romeo Brass, by director Shane Meadows and also has credits like Dead Man’s Shoes, The Bourne Ultimatum and Hot Fuzz. Currently, box office is 14 percent ahead of 2024. What’s the key for February continuing that momentum? For now, it’s originality. At $36 million, “Dog Man” (Universal) grossed substantially over expectations, pushing the weekend to $87 million — better than 2024.

The DreamWorks Animation film had the biggest opening of any non-franchise cartoon feature since 2019 (not counting the already established “The Super Mario Bros. Movie”). To be fair: “Dog Man” is a spinoff character that emerged from the “Captain Underpants” universe. However, Dog Man did not make an appearance in the 2017 “Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie” (which has been the only one to date) and Universal marketing didn’t note the connection.

Its initial estimate just edges out “The Wild Robot,” which went on to collect $143 million. “Dog Man” also got an A Cinemascore. At a very thrifty cost of $40 million, it’s a major winner for Universal.

For the first time in 2025, the box office is going to have some sort of pulse as Universal’s DreamWorks Animation title Dog Man is set to send families back into theaters after 2024’s holiday Mufasa-Wicked juggernaut with an opening in excess of $20 million-plus.

Booked at 3,800 theaters, Dog Man is based on the Dav Pilkey Scholastic graphic novels that have sold more than 60 million copies and have been translated into 47 languages. As it gears up for a busy year of tentpole releases, Warner Bros.’ film division has hired an Amazon MGM Studios executive as its chief business officer.

Ted Lim, who most recently served as head of global strategy and business development at MGM, will join Warner Bros. in a newly created role this week, Motion Picture Group co-chiefs Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy wrote in a memo to staff on Tuesday.

Lim joined MGM in 2018 from Participant Media, where he served as senior vp strategy and business development, working on investments and acquisitions. Earlier in his career, the exec was part of the corporate strategy and business development team for Disney.

Ted Lim has joined Warner Bros Motion Picture Group in the newly created role of Chief Business Officer, the studio said Tuesday.

Lim joins from Amazon MGM Studios, where he most recently served as Head of Global Strategy and Business Development. Staffers were notified of the hire this morning via a memo from Warner Bros chiefs Michael DeLuca & Pam Abdy, to whom Lim will report.

“Working with our colleagues in finance, streaming, franchise, content sales/home entertainment, licensing, and consumer products, Ted will collaborate with each division to ensure each Warner Bros. Pictures release reaches the widest possible audience beyond its theatrical window,” they wrote. “With this new structure, Ricky Tydus who serves as SVP of Creative Strategy & Film Operations and his team will report to Ted.”

Some Hollywood Squares viewers expressed disapproval of the rebooted game show.

It officially premiered on Thursday. It features the classic format: a nine-by-nine grid of large squares that creates a giant tic-tac-toe board.

Inside each of those squares is a celebrity, with many of them comedians or actors.

Actress and daytime talk show host Drew Barrymore is the current resident of the famed center square.

The show also has a new host, with former NFL star and CBS Mornings host Nate Burleson following in the footsteps of Tom Bergeron, John Davidson, and Peter Marshall.

While some fans seemed to love the game show and Nate as the host, not all viewers seemed enthused by the rest of the Hollywood Squares cast.
