Actually I had never heard about this 2006 "TANK S. W. A. T. 01" Anime before now in 2023, as I was sitting through a "Dominion: Tank Police" marathon. But I wasn't actually harboring much of any grand expectation to this 29 animated short feature, given the outcome of the 1993 mini-series "New Dominion Tank Police". And just when you thought the 1993 mini-series Anime "New Dominion Tank Police" was as low as the series would sink, enter the 2006 CGI animted "TANK S. W. A. T. 01".
I just couldn't get into this 2006 travesty of an addition to the "Dominion: Tank Police" franchise. Why? Well, because the whole thing looked like a computer game that couldn't decide on going for Anime graphics or regular graphics, and the result was atrocious to look at. Especially so since it looked like it was a half-finished product, as most things looked unrendered and lacking greatly in detail. Plus, the wooden, rigid stiffness of the animation didn't help either.
Truth be told, I didn't even make it 10 minutes through "TANK S. W. A. T. 01" before tossing the towel in the ring and giving up. It was just too unbearable to look at. This is seriously some of the worst animation I have ever stumbled upon.
I will just forget about "TANK S. W. A. T. 01" and pretend it doesn't exist.
My rating of director Romanov Higa's 2006 CGI animated monstrosity lands on a one out of ten stars.
