We blasted through ten fabulous episodes of Mindy Kalin's "Sex Lives of College Girls." Great cast, great scripts, fun dialog, and solid episodes. Sherri Shepherd kills her character as a Senator and mother of one of the girls.
I loved the four main characters, their very different personalities and it was fun watching them develop and become friends. There isn't one actor who doesn't fully realize their role no matter how small. I also loved that there were real problems that needed to be worked out. Looking forward to season two. Solid entertainment.

I feel like the ppl leaving reviews aren't actual college girls right now lmao they seem very angry at this show for it's diversity. Either way it's funny and the conversations they have in the show, I've had like 75% of them in real life. Of course parts can feel a little SNL sketchy and not like real people, but I think that's just how Mindy and other comedians write. I am excited for the rest of the season. Waiting for the season to finish to see if it'll be above a 7.

It reminds me so much of sex education, not to bring up a debate on which is better because you should be able to like both shows but of course it's hard not to compare with similar titles. I'd say this is more like a sitcom version to sex education. Everything that happens in the show seems like a genuine representation of what happens in real life, but sometimes the dialogue seems short lived so you move on from it quickly, but that's understandable considering the runtime is only 30 minutes. I think it's a "surface show", despite addressing sensitive issues you can watch it without turning your brain on and have a laugh because it doesn't delve deeply into them.
Despite the bad things that happen or characters go through, it still keeps an optimistic vibe, like it's a happy show. Depressing feels like a strong word for this but it doesn't get depressing; it's not a show were the characters get sad then you get sad too. The characters are lovable, so is the soundtrack. My only problem, which isn't a big one, is it feels written, it doesn't get you immersed in the show, you don't get lost in it, like as you're watching the show you actually do know you're watching the show consciously and subconsciously, and usually shows like that don't leave a lasting impression. I've never been able to properly explain this but sometimes you'll thoroughly enjoy the show then forget about it until you hear a new season's coming out soon and get excited like oh that show, I loved that show.
Buttt it's very promising, it's the type of show that could become a fan favorite if it went on for 7+ seasons and still managed to be funny all the way, like a new era of sitcoms the way the 90's or early 2000's were, without trying to be an imitation or new version of them. Unfortunately, shows easily get canceled these days if they aren't doing crazy numbers so I hope it doesn't fall into the same fate.

As a current college student myself it's really nice to see tv show finally made about us rather than high schoolers. With that being said, is this show perfect, no but I very much enjoyed it nonetheless. The main issues I had were with dialogue that at times shows that this was a show written by millennial rather than gen z aged college kids; and the believability that this is a real college environment particularly in the wardrobe choices and even how the sorority recruitment went. But if you don't care about those things then this is a really fun show! The characters are flawed and relatable young adults and I was definitely watch the next season!
I enjoyed this show I binged watched it in one day, absolutely addictive, couldn't stop watching. The characters are entertaining, relatable, a def watch 10/10. Hope there is a season 2.

I finished season 1 in just one day and I am so looking forward to season 2. This show lowkey gave "Sex Education" vibes with a stronger female cast. Also, speaking on female cast, I LOVED the strong representation in this show. Although this show was mostly comedy, it managed to cover and confront some dark topics as well. I think the show did a really good job portraying college students and also did a great job targeting their audience as well. I loved every single character (expect for you know, if you know, you know), and I'm so glad I was able to find this show!
Okay so having a tough week I was looking for a soft easy comedy and I had seen the preview for this and with Mindy keeling involved I figured I'd be in for a huge treat and I was absolutely right I loved it from start to finish I laughed out loud numorous times.

If you are a fan of Mindy Kaling then you will be a fan of this show. Don't even bother to read the negative reviews this show is fun! It's for anyone who has a sense of humour and just wants to laugh. People are way to serious in some of these reviews, so if you enjoy a Mindy comedy you will enjoy this show.

They should have kept the show and get rid of the title, but instead in second season they decided to keep the tile and get rid of the show (writing) instead. I gave the first season 8/10 and felt that it was really well written but sadly misnamed show, that might end up making creators lives really hard in the future because the shows values and strong points obviously stood elsewhere then what the title promotes. The second season is 4/10. It happened. They are trying so hard to live up to the name that they forgot to write the show this time around - I guess they took the advice of the audiences who where stuck in the shows title and were left somewhat horny after first season?! The second season feels soulless and out of touch, but that's what you get when your dialogues are made of bullet points and headlines for the character. It sad that marketing killed this show.
Liked the jokes and the chemistry. Id give it an 8 in terms of production quality. Was easily bingeable as only 22 mins per episode(from episode 2 onward) and theres end credits of a few mins giving 25 mins an episode. The pilot was longer at around 55 minutes.
The characters have great chemistry. Each character's lives is interesting. The structure is good. Its well filmed. High production quality. You are genuinely invested in the characters.
Standout character is definitely the indian girl, Bela, played by Amrit kaur. She is funny and steals every scene. The character is basically a sex-addict ironically coming from a conservative indian background. Indian audiences in the west will find this funny.

Well this is one series that does push the envelope a little bit from "HBO Max" created by comedian and "SNL" alum Mindy Kaling comes an interesting and truth opening comedy like drama that involves the lives of four college freshman at a Vermont college. And the girls have their ups and down yet the title tells it all and it gives the viewer some eye candy treats as most episodes involve and show the girls and their adventures with sex and being intimate. The cast chemistry is top notch and the acting is fine showing how girls with different approaches and attitudes become friends. Kimberly(Pauline Chalamet) a small town girl tries to makes friends at school and go against the grain with dating and her studies still Kim comes out of her shell, and Leighton(Renee Rapp) is bright and well to do and she has her fun yet keeps many of her personal things closed up. Whitney(Alyah Scott) is a determined hard working soccer player with a mother who's a U. S. Senator still Whitney has her fun. And my favorite is Bela(Amrit Kaur) a sexy colored bra wearing thrill seeker who's wait and want is to be a comedy writer! And Bela loves and lives life up at college! Overall funny feel good series that's blunt brash and outspoken with intimate happenings and the attractive sexy girls make the show a watch!
Not sure why people feel the need to watch this just to complain about the "woke agenda" after. You can tell from the get go that this is going to be a diverse, female-centric show. If that's not your thing just watch one of the gazillion other shows featuring shallow pretty girls and all white casts, there really is no shortage.
Aside from that, pretty funny show with relatable characters that touches on some serious issues without getting too preachy. Good lighthearted entertainment to binge in a day or two.

Not understanding these harsh reviews? It's an easy going, funny and light show. People are overthinking and over critiquing it. I like it - finally something carefree and easy to watch. Hope they get renewed for another season!
I wasn't sure at first if I was going to like this, but then I was hooked by episode 4!! Loved the character development and where the story is headed. Hopefully will get picked up for a season 2!

This show is ok and has potential. Aside from all the insane liberal and democratic euphemisms and just crap! Could be fun if we weren't getting a bunch of BS jammed down our throats at every opportunity! (Hard eye roll)

Mindy Kaling has done it again!! I absolutely love this series. The 4 female roommates and their various plot lines are really interesting. The issues they deal with are relatable and important. The pacing of the 10 episodes is perfect. The music is fun. I also LMAO throughout the series. One will laugh, cry, get excited, get mad...and feel all the feels watching The Sex Lives of College Girls.

So many stereotypes in this series.
Sometimes, it makes you smile.
You can watch this series for fun, don't take it seriously.
Sometimes, we need series like this for snack.
My biggest problem is main cast.
Pauline Chalamet and Amrit Kaur are very old to be young college girls.

Such subtle comedy and then it'll just throat punch you with an unforgettable line that you will quote in your daily life. Amazing, organic acting from these cast members. It has so many real moments but not so common it becomes boring. Also gives a broad spectrum of the possibilities one can explore with the newfound freedoms that come with college life. While there is pretty graphic nudity, I think teens of a certain age would definitely benefit from watching a show like this. It gives insight as to what they can be when they grow up and it's helped me explore myself. Easily one of my new favorite tv shows and eager to watch the second season!

Was this a phenomenal show? No, but it was still really entertaining. It was fun and charismatic. The characters were likeable and I found myself invested in their stories. I would have wanted some more depth to some characters though. Still, a binge-worthy series.
The storyline is intriquing and makes the series very bingeable. I didn't particularly care for it but I watched anyway? Probably won't watch the second season though. It's not that funny and that would be okay if it had more realism but yeah no. It doesn't help that the majority of people in the the show look 30. Maybe it's cause I'm Canadian but my first year looked more like us playing Sardines in res and y'know actually studying. It's basically yet another show that tries to show the 'teen/college" experience but leans towards the sensational. The jokes feel old and honestly the premise is kinda bland and not very funny in itself (like a worse version of Sex Education).

I adore this show. It's truly fantastic and I'm sad I binged and there's none left! Addictive, funny, truthful. It's everything I've been looking for since girls went off the air. So worth the watch!
Big props to mindy Kaling.

This show was definitely better than I thought it would be. I went in without any expectations and ended up bingeing it in 2 days. Good drama, some good comedy in there as well. I really like how it covers a very wide variety of what kinds of experiences girls go through when they get to college (this is coming from a guy so I don't pretend to know what it's like). Without any spoilers though, they have multiple characters all discovering themselves and making decisions that they both regret and are proud of.
Really fun watch and I'm very invested in all 4 of the girls' stories now. Can't wait for season 2!
