On Wednesday, 5th February 2020, UKTV's comedy-orientated channel Dave announced that they were so pleased with the response to the first series which aired in 2019 that they have commissioned two further series. Series 2 was scheduled to be filmed and broadcast in 2020 with series 3 due in 2021. However, then the Covid-19 pandemic caused the project to be delayed. Filming on the 12-episode series two will take place at The National Gallery in London from 21st July 2021 to 6th August 2021 for broadcast later in 2021.
UKTV have confirmed that series 3 of the comedy that was broadcast in April and May 2022 was the final series. A spokesperson for UKTV said "We can confirm that last year's series of Comedians Giving Lectures was the final one. We'd like to thank Sara Pascoe and 12 Yard Productions for delivering a brilliant show and we look forward to finding new opportunities to work together in the future."
