Not great but seen a lot worse.

Acting mostly OK.. Effects great. But it's not 28 Days

    Weak

It's just a weak story, with a lot wrong with it, such as why is it these creatures don't eat themselves, and how is it that they all seem to be mutating in exactly the same bizarre way. The CGI really is not bad. But to watch people simply fleeing the mutant cannibals, and falling into one bad situation and then miraculously finding a way out of it is simply not very involving.

    Standard Fare

A standard disaster b-movie, at least as they are currently produced. Don't know about any of the talent but the writing and directing are ridiculously pathetic, but then I can't stand it when people are portrayed as having no sense of self preservation and way too eager to be overly concerned with people they don't even know. Yes, it does have its moments but they are still not very good ones. Give me an old 70's disaster movie any time over one of these new schlock movies.

    nasty

Lol that was so bad, I lasted 5 min. Chunks don't fly off the sun. and if they did they wouldn't be radioactive. I think these people heard the word solar radiation, but didn't bother to find out what that meant.

    Definition of "derivative"

Had there never been "Night of the Comet", Night of the Living Dead", "28 Days Later", literally any (and almost every) zombie movie, this might be a classic. But there has been, and if you've seen any of them, you don't need to bother with this one.

    • Trivia
In the scene leading up to the flat tire, it can be seen they used a Mitsubishi (steering wheel), a Ford (front grille, hatch, and radio), and a Renault (lug nut covers) to portray the vehicle they're driving.
    • Goofs
The sun is comprised almost entirely of hydrogen and helium, so there is no way solar "debris" could crash into Earth.
