Keisuke Watanabe expressed that he had difficulty keeping up with Mackenyu's speed while performing stunts.
At the age of 15, Mackenyu watched a Japanese movie starring Haruma Miura and got inspired to pursue acting professionally. He held on to the dream of co-starring with the actor once he established his acting career, which came true with this movie.
Based on manga series "Gunjyo Senki" by Masaki Kasahara (published from 2013 to 2017 in weekly Japanese magazine Weekly Young Jump).
Haruma Miura died by suicide before the release of the film.
Mackenyu practiced archery several months prior to filming but he was already trained in Yabusame (traditional Japanese archery on horseback).
