Too much of double meaning jokes or wannabe double meaning jokes.
The movie revolves around areas of Mysore and geographically stuck there. It has the same mannerisms of Jaggesh, shown in most of his movies which goes too much overboard. Tired of the forced comedy with forced back ground music to stimulate fake laughs at most places.
The story doesn't go around anywhere, the story is completely lost.
Another irritating part is the narrations by three characters which occupies the whole movie, with the religious preachings. It should have stopped somewhere.
There is one theme music for each character which is somewhat unique and well made.
The performance by Nanjamma and rangamma charecter is very good. But it is the repetitive mannerisms of Jaggesh and double meaning jokes (absolutely meaningless) has spoilt the movie.
Only one song is good, and a breath of fresh air comes after Dhananjay's entry. But by then it is too late, the movie ends by then stating about the next chapter.
Absolutely useless to waste your hard earned money to watch it in a theatre or a cinema. Watchable on OTT or Television.

Only Jaggesh knows what the heck is this movie about?
Cheap, 3rd grade dialogues, confusing message, mixing religion unnecessarily and showing Hindus and Raghavendra Mutta in poor light.
Don't understand why you have to glorify muslims, promote Love Jihad and Conversion ?
In any case, it's unbearable movie.
One should avoid it at any cost, even if you get to watch it for free!
Heroine is younger than the youngest son of Jaggesh! He is like he grand father and yet he speaks to her in such a vulgar language!!
Vulgar vulgar vulgar, cheap, below the belt jokes, unbearable, third class movie.

Well, the movie is still running in the theater. Im just walking outside from the screen.
Worst screenplay. Worst Direction, worst dialogues.
I couldn't watch this movie even till the interval. Just giving 3 stars because of Jaggesh.
You should never weigh on Vijayaprasad direction, I thought of not watching this movie after watching is last movie in theater, but I somehow came.
You will vomit if you watch this movie in theater. May be today is last day of multiplex screenings.
The movie night release on OTT soon, since it seems like last week in theater.
Jaggesh and Aditi have acted well.

Movies have been having a sort of trend in the past years and at any given time we will see that a certain kind of movies come out and people also like and appreciate. This movie is made with the lead actor - Jaggesh in mind. All that you can expect from a Jaggesh movie is available here. Unfortunately people have moved on and the actor hasn't. Double meaning dialogues are his forte and that what your find here. Some are cringe worthy.
The movie tries to give a message about inter religious harmony at the core. But the un-necessary double meaning dialogues and double-meaning lyrics in songs keep dragging the movie down. There is no chemistry between the lead pair and it may be due to the obvious real life age factor. Jaggesh could act his age and pick roles that would suit for his age. The comedy seems forced. All in all it was a cringe fest for today's audience.
The movie title has a suffix "Chapter 1", giving you the hint (may be even a warning) that there will be more. I would avoid it, would recommend the same to you.. baaki, nimma samaya.. nimma haNa, nimige bittiddu.. Yenjaai..

In the year 2022 when Kannada movies are reaching great heights came this garbage that has no reason to exist. Filled with cheap 3rd grade dialogs, stereotypes and other rubbish, the movie is a waste of time, effort and talent. Although Jaggesh agreeing to be a part of such movies is not surprising, it is beyond comprehension as to why Aditi Prabhudeva, senior actors like Dattanna, Veena Sundar and eventually Dhananjaya agreed to be a part of this crap. The director is trying to portray harmony among Hindus, Muslims & Christians but at no point goes beyond cringe double meaning dialogs.
Jaggesh speaks cheap dialogs in front of an actress half his age and that by itself is the movie summarized in one line. Even the song lyrics has double undertones to it.

I am really happy to see this movie from Canada, my mother & father always watched Kannada, as a youngster I started diverted my mind in on other language. I started watching Kannada movie at Present ,my all time favourite Jagesh SIR , sorry. If I spelled it wrong..,.. this movie is amazing some of the scenes it just touches your heart and reality of your past what you faced it, I am really thankful for all the thaothapuri team for a moral message to new generation. And hope they learn from the parents how the past was and some of present children think about religion , god and menstrual cycle and humanity. Respecting each other by not teaching wrong to our future generation. I really thank you for the entire teamof thothapuri team. I know my review is late but I am trying correct our future generation by this movie.

Everyone knows that we need to get rid of bad practices like untouchability. But let's be real. Targeting Hindu temples should stop. I've watched like 100 movies saying Hindus need to bend their a** for everyone else and allow people of other faiths inside the temple and do whatever they want. Why should a hindu temple allow someone who doesn't have faith in it but just want to showcase their musical talent?
Does the director know that Mecca or Vatican doesn't allow people of other religions? Why not question other religions too? We shouldn't even blame them for it because it's their faith and we're not supposed to question them when we don't follow their cultural and/or spiritual beliefs. It's probably time for us to rethink about this guilt that they're trying to build among Hindus. Hindus are already the most secular people on earth and it pains to see yet another movie that pushes the concept of their secularism into a place of worship. We already have friends from other faiths but that secularism filter cannot be applied to a place of worship and dilute the religion. Leave our temples alone, it's time to start respecting rules of the temples without a fuss. That's real secularism. It's movies like this that are the reason why a woman made her way into Sabarimala as well. Because of the selective outrage similar to this.
That's not even the primary reason for this movie to be a huge flop, there's more to it.
Jaggesh, being such a big star, a highly talented actor and a politician, has become so irresponsible nowadays when it comes to selecting a script and promoting the movie accordingly. He should stop praising/promoting everyone and everything, Jaggesh should start talking reality. He promoted this movie saying families can watch in the theaters. I watched this movie alone on my phone and I feel disgusted about the level of cheap comedy it has, so imagine watching it with family! I'm a person who enjoyed great movies like Eddelu Manjunatha, and even that doesn't have so many cheap jokes.
This movie has an under-the-belt comedy in every scene, it's so cringe! Dear director, stop trying too hard to push a double meaning dialogue after every other sentence. People don't like movies this way anymore. We have standup comedy shows to watch on YouTube that can make us laugh if we want comedy just with dialogues. Simply get updated. Movies need to have comedy that we can WATCH, something that's more than just dialogues. You could've composed comedy using Jaggesh's facial expressions, just watch Matha or Eddelu Manjunatha and you'll get to know. But unfortunately, Jaggesh has the same exact expression for every scene in Thothapuri because well, there's only 1 type of boring comedy in the whole movie.
