Dead End went on to garner many awards. The Houston Film Commission included the film in its 2002 Texas Filmmakers Showcase, which they screened all across Texas. The short was well received from the Governor's mansion in Austin TX, to the prestigious Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles.

Hart was able to use this short thriller to raise financing for his debut feature film "Bone Dry".
