After a tumultuous return to his family’s hole-in-the-wall Chicago restaurant, chef Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White) and his staff transform the greasy sandwich joint into a first-class dining experience after he discovers the slush fund his brother left behind. Despite having the extra money to make his dreams a reality, the future proves to be both a personal and professional challenge for Carmy and the crew.
Watch the trailer for Season 2 of “The Bear”:
Beginning on June 14, the new series continuation of the beloved film “The Full Monty” arrives on Hulu. It’s 25 years later and the men and women of Sheffield, England, are in reboot mode, navigating life and family. The big finale of "American Idol"'s 11th season is finally upon us this week, and we noticed that this year's two finalists look as cut out for the camera as they do for the stage (hello Phillip Phillips!).
It certainly doesn't hurt that so many "Idol" alums before them have successfully launched from the show's giant platform into the world of film.
In fact, there have been a lot of reality stars in general who've made a name in the movie scene. Here are our top 15.
15. Carrie Underwood, 'American Idol'

For "Idol" Season 4 winner Carrie Underwood, five Grammys, dozens of other accolades, four successful albums, and pretty hair just wasn't enough. She first gave her thespian itch a scratch on the small screen in 2010 with guest stints on "Sesame Street" and "How I Met Your Mother" before going full-blown Hollywood for 2011's "Soul Surfer,...

Kenny Wormald is getting his first big leading role by recreating the character Ren MacCormack in Footloose. He's previously been featured in the MTV series Dancelife and films like Center Stage: Turn It Up and You Got Served. The remake opens up today in theaters, but not many know much more of the up and comer.
We Want More Though.
Well, not really. It is intriguing though to know who's portraying Kevin Bacon's iconic role for no reason.
Here's some other trivia about the actor:
- Was a dancer in Kevin Smith's Clerks II. Don't remember for the life of me how dancers were involved. I'm still scarred from that donkey show.
- He's from Bahston, Massachusetts and was born in 1984.
- He used to date Ashley Roberts from the Pussycat Dolls for three years.
- According to our records, he has Not stolen Julianne Hough away from Ryan Seacrest yet.

Updating a classic can be treacherous, like building a strip mall on hallowed ground; but director Craig Brewer ("Hustle & Flow") avoided the dreaded "High School Musical" route for his remake of "Footloose."
Fans will be relieved to hear that two of the original songs made the cut. Some other adjustments include having four very different dance sequences, and demolition derby buses instead of tractors. Brewer also anchored the script by fleshing out a backstory in which five Bomont teens were tragically killed after a night of dancing and loud music.
But the best upgrade to "Footloose" is the casting of professional dancers in the two lead roles. Everybody loves '80s dance movies, but come on, back then it was super-obvious whenever they swapped Kevin Bacon or Jennifer Beals with their wig-wearing dance doubles.

The film, opening this Friday, is already catching some major buzz.

How many degrees away from Kevin Bacon are you if you play his character almost 30 years later? Kenny Wormald, who is kicking off his Sunday shoes as Ren McCormack in the remake of 1984's "Footloose," is about to find out. The new "Footloose" opens this Friday and costars Julianne Hough from "Dancing With the Stars," Dennis Quaid and Andie MacDowell.
Age: 27 (the exact same age as the original "Footloose")

What He's Done: Wormald danced his way into Paramount's hearts through nerve-wracking open auditions. Before this, he starred in 2008's "Center Stage: Turn It Up," shook his groove thang in a number of music videos, and even toured with Justin Timberlake and the Pussycat Dolls as a backup dancer.
What He's Doing Now: Wormald's Ren is a big-city boy with little-city blues in Bomont, where no one is allowed to dance or listen to rock 'n' roll or have any fun ever,...

Footloose gets the remake treatment, and the end result really isn't too bad at all. Here's our review...
Oh, Mr Bacon. It’s been so long. But I remember. That red tuxedo… That yellow Volkswagen Beetle… That warehouse dance sequence. Because that’s how easy it is to fuel a lifelong obsession with Kevin, with his chiseled cheeks and wayward, fuzzy hair indicative of a lifetime spent sticking errant fingers in wayward sockets. What good is Footloose without that monumental fox of eighties funkiness? Can a fresh-faced imposter do justice to those Sunday shoes? Heck, is it worth his while even fastening his shoelaces?
Footloosers everywhere will be jumpy. As well as making Bacon a poster boy, the original movie delivered an iconic soundtrack stuffed with fist-pumping cheese, turning Kenny Loggins into a legend and inspiring impressionable teens to do strange things on living room carpets. Title: Footloose (2011) Directed by: Craig Brewer (‘Hustle & Flow,’ ‘Black Snake Moan’) Starring: Kenny Wormald ‘(‘Center Stage: Turn It Up’), Julianne Hough (‘Burlesque,’ TV’s ‘Dancing With the Stars’) and Dennis Quaid Some films so perfectly capture the voice of a generation that even the mention of remaking it brings criticisms by loyal fans. ‘Footloose,’ which helped launch Kevin Bacon’s career when it was released in 1984, is one such movie. Teens were able to relate to Bacon’s rebellious character, Ren MacCormack, who tirelessly questioned the authority of the adults running his town. The new ‘Footloose’ remake, which was directed and co-written by Craig Brewer and is being released by...

Kenny Wormald may not be a household name… yet. His biggest films to date include "Clerks II" (in which he simply plays a character called "Dancer") and "Center Stage: Turn It Up" (yeah, we never heard of that one either).
But that's all about to change when "Footloose" sashays onto screens on October 14—and Wormald, who plays leading man Ren MacCormick, is already being coined as "star material" by the powers that be.
Which is why this 27-year-old triple threat has reportedly been tapped to play Johnny Castle in the upcoming "Dirty Dancing" reboot.
According to the Hollywood Insider, word around Tinseltown is that many of those involved in the remake have screened "Footlose" and like what they see.
Apparently the guy can sing, dance and, above all, make the ladies swoon.

Step 2: Watch the brand-new trailer for Paramount’s Footloose remake (below), starring Kenny Wormald (Center Stage: Turn It Up) as rug-cutting bad boy Ren, the role made famous by Kevin Bacon in the 1984 original. The basic story looks the same, with Ren falling for a preacher’s daughter (Dancing with the Stars’ Julianne Hough) while tussling with her overbearing dad (Dennis Quaid) over their town’s anti-dancing law. And there’s even a new version of the famous, high-flying warehouse dance scene. But crunk dancing?...

Summary: An obsessed cop is on the trail of a serial killer prowling the streets of Buffalo, New York. When his teenage daughter disappears, he drops any pretension and professional restraint he might have to get the killer.
Analysis: Shot almost three years ago now, Dark Castle had originally planned to release this thriller back in late 2009. However for reasons unspecified, it has been sitting on a shelf for some time and keeps getting delayed. In cases like these, the most obvious reason is usually the correct one - it stinks (eg. Yet Cusack generally has good taste in projects, his last venture into horror was the surprisingly effective Stephen King...

Andie MacDowell just joined Dennis Quaid solidifying the line up of this "Footloose" remake that has been shedding cast members left and right since it began development. Two guys I purposely try to know nothing about, Chace Crawford ("Gossip Girl") and Zac Efron ("High School Musical 3: Senior Year") have already dropped from the lead on this ill advised blast from the past.
MacDowell will play the wife of Quaid's rock and roll hating Reverend (or whatever passes as rowdy music in this remake), originally played by John Lithgow. Kenny Wormald (who was in a movie called "Center Stage: Turn It Up") plays the dancing rebel that Kevin Bacon once so memorably/hilariously portrayed.
I have to wonder if this Wormald kid has the chops or if he was just the guy they scraped up to resurrect this thing. He's a real professional dancer, but can he spaz out with style?...

Dennis Quaid has already landed the role of the righteous, rock-music hating reverend in the upcoming Footloose remake. Now, Andie MacDowell has signed on to play his patient wife Vi in writer-director Craig Brewer’s (Hustle and Flow) redo of the 1984 movie about a small town that bans dancing. MacDowell and Quaid have played husband and wife once before, when they co-starred in HBO’s Emmy-nominated 2001 movie Dinner with Friends. The acting vets should be a welcome addition to a cast that boasts relative newbies Kenny Wormald (Center Stage: Turn it Up) and Julianne Hough (Dancing with the Stars) as the teen leads.

Kenny Wormald, who will star in the Footloose remake to be released April 1, 2011, is not a complete unknown, you charlatans! He toured with Justin Timberlake, was featured in MTV’s Dancelife, played a shirtless backup dancer on the third episode of The CW’s Melrose Place, and contributed his ballet and hip-hop techniques as Tommy Anderson in Center Stage 2. As pictured, Kenny has already nearly achieved 1980 Kevin Baconness. If I want to be picky, he is about six degrees away. He needs 1) Fluffier hair; 2) better turnout; 3) slim-fit jeans; 4) slightly pursed lips; 5) haunting lighting scheme; 6) a car. Right now he is like Bacos,...

It’s been a long, slow dance to the screen for Paramount’s new version of Footloose. Actors and directors have come aboard and been shuffled offstage almost as quickly, but now the lengthy search for a new leading man appears to have ended with a fresh face: dancer Kenny Wormald has won the role.We know you were all on tenterhooks as the studio scoured the Us for someone to take over Kevin Bacon’s role as Ren in the remake, and now, according to Deadline, Wormald is it.While he’s largely appeared as a dancer on screen in films and, more notably music videos (you might have seen his work in Clerks 2 or Center Stage: Turn It Up, Footloose should be his big break. The role was originally handed to Zac Efron, who dropped out for fear of musical typecasting. That version also lost High School Musical director Kenny Ortega.

Footlose finally has its Ren. Stepping into the shoes of Kevin Bacon (and Zac Efron and Chace Crawford, who both circled the project), it's Kenny Wormald. Who is Wormald? He's a 25-year-old actor and dancer who hails from Boston and counts among his credits MTV's Dancelife (TV) and the film Center Stage: Turn It Up (2008). He also recently toured with Justin Timberlake. Wormald joins the previously announced Julianne Hough, the former Dancing with the Stars (TV) champ, who'll play Ariel. Also newly introduced to the cast are Dennis Quaid as Reverend Moore and Miles Teller as Willard. Footloose (2010) will start shooting soon with an eye toward a 2011 release.

Our long national nightmare is over! The Footloose remake finally has a cast. Now I can rest easy tonight. Mostly because no one I care too much about is in the movie, which Craig Brewer (Hustle and Flow, Black Snake Moan) is still directing. Ok, there's Dennis Quaid, playing John Lithgow's role, but he's been in worse. The rest of the names, each of which is sure to thrill you in different ways, after the break. A press release from Paramount announces that little-known Kenny Wormald has the lead role formerly made iconic by Kevin Bacon. Wormald is a Boston kid who has been on the MTV series Dancelife and Center Stage: Turn it Up and toured with Justin Timberlake and The Pussycat Dolls. All of which probably proves his dancing bonafides, but can the kid act? The previously announced Julianne Hough will be the small-town girl Wormald falls for.

If it’s a day ending in a ‘y’, then yet another frickin’ dance movie must be going into production. And, since our charts show us that this is a Wednesday, and Wednesday ends with a ‘y’, it comes as no surprise to learn that Mandate Pictures have decided to add Dream On to the list of 728 dance movies currently clogging Hollywood’s pipeline. We’re so excited we may well perform a celebratory foxtrot. We’d be genuinely excited if this were, somehow, a dance-flecked reimagining of the great HBO series of the same name, starring Brian Benben. Sadly, though, this Dream On is yet another story of a teenager who learns the beauty of being yourself through the medium of dance, in this case a would-be Olympic gymnast who blah blah blahs via the underground hip-hop scene in Atlanta. The movie will be produced by Laurence Mark, who produced I,...

Tonya Plank--and whoever's bullying her, knock it off--reports on the Guggenheim's Ethan Stiefel/Larry Keigwin combo platter, which I'll be catching tonight (tickets are sold out). If there's a Q & A session afterwards, I hope there'll be time permitting to ask Ethan what his character's "motivation" was in Center Stage: Turn It Up, a question I will pose with the utmost sincerity so that his admirers in the audience won't take offense and bat me senseless with their ballet slippers. His fan base can be quite ferocious when poked with a stick. Update: Taylor Gordon also reports in on Sunday's performance demo. I had a good time last night, the section from Keigwin's "Natural Selection" was thrilling, but was nearly stampeded by senior citizens barreling to the refreshments tables as if they were storming Omaha Beach. I'm not a stickler for deportment and decorum, but I think stacking tiny sandwiches...
