The message was loud and clear.. we're alive not only for ourselves but for the people around us. Every single person who crosses our paths through the lifetime, etches a mark in the memory. At the end of the day, we're alive for the memories. It makes us who we are. Without them we're nothing.
The film directs you towards new beginnings even as there is a nagging reality of being worn out by life's many struggles.
While watching this movie, I was far away from my country and especially from my peoples. This movie shows us how important is family life and without it we are nothing.. The relation between husband and wife is so important and Basabdatta Chatterjee &Parambrata Chattopadhyay naturally play their roles. In a word fantastic. Oops sorry to mention Soumitra Chatterjee and Gargi Roy Chowdhury. The actors lived their roles. What a nice way to portray some of the realities of life. Crisp direction and sequencing of events. The tough job of the directors made to look easy. A lot of hard work has gone into filming it. A wonderful movie that gave the reflection of Psychological Clashes amid unavoidable responsibilities, commitments, and dedication. Touched my heart. A film with deep emotions. Everyone can relate to himself.
Sraboner Dhara - Professor Dr. Amitava Sarkar (Soumitra Chatterjee) stands at the cusp of forgetting his past and not much is left for him in his future. Yes, the septuagenarian is suffering from the Alzheimer's disease that has plunged his life into a quandary and his wife Shubha (Gargi Roy Chowdhury) is doing her best to be with him in trying to restore his memory. She knows it is incurable, but will not back down from the difficult situation. Dr. Nilabho Roy (Parambrata Chattopadhyay) is his neurologist, standing at the juncture of life where he has broken away from his mediocre past, is a celebrity practitioner with a bright future. But his personal life is in a disarray as his wife has decided to leave him with their little daughter, his parents want him to stay with them in their middle class, dilapidated home and he finds himself hopelessly lonely.
But there is hope in life. Nilabho will find a solution to finding happiness for Amitava and his wife, and in the process realize that all the recognition, reputation and wealth are of no consequence if he doesn't have the blessings of his parents and the companionship of his wife and daughter.
Sraboner Dhara is a heartwarming disquisition about psychological conditions, one of a helpless patient and the other trying to battle his own demons from the past. Helmed by Sudeshna Roy and Abhijit Guha, the 108 minutes pass quite quickly as the film is content driven and has brilliant performances by Soumitra Chatterjee, Gargi Roy Chowdhury and Basabdatta Chatterjee. But Parambrata pulls out a stunner here, he is subdued, mellow, confident and expressive.

Many years later, such a simple movie showed something extraordinary,That is why it is said that the life that exists in Bengali Nostalgic cinema is nowhere else,If you want to be worldly then this is definitely for you, dont miss it.
