Not a bad show, takes parts from Deadman Wonderland, Future diary and others.

It does seem to get better the further into it you watch, the soundtrack is pretty good and although people have said the dub is bad, I haven't found it to be too bad.

The theory of natural selection, the stronger prevails and the weaker will be subdued. This anime is based on this theory, augmented with seals, special powers of each one, reformulating the conception of the strongest.

It is very worth watching, in addition to having fun, question your conception of the strongest, or of what strength really is.

I don't really know what to make of Darwin's game. I don't find this series to be a must watch, especially this season as there are better anime this season to watch. But my feelings towards this show are the same feelings towards Future Diary where the show never bored me and kept me engaged from start to finish. If you feel the same about Future Diary, then I can see you enjoying Darwin's game as it is an entertaining shounen series with some great action and music. But if didn't enjoy Future Diary, THEN BOY THIS AIN'T THE SHOW FOR YOU MATE. The world building, janky pacing and characters will frustrate the heck out of you. It's a show that will appeal to some but not to others and although I did enjoy it, this ain't a show I would look back later this year as a show that is definitely one of the best. By no means is this a bad show, but it ain't a great one either.

Schoolboy Kaname Sudou receives an invitation from a classmate to play the mobile game Darwin's Game. When Kaname opens the app, a snake erupts from his display and bites his neck, causing him to lose consciousness. He wakes up in the hospital room and realizes that he doesn't have a bite mark on his neck. On the way home, he reflects on his experience and dismisses the surreal experience as a hallucination.

Curiosity overcomes him on the train and he opens the app again. However, since this seems like any other fighting game, he breathes a sigh of relief and decides to start his first match. His initial relief is short-lived, however, as his in-game opponent unexpectedly appears right in front of him and tries to chase him with a knife. As he desperately runs for his life, Kaname puts two and two together and has to admit that Darwin's Game is no ordinary game, but a brutal struggle for survival.

"Darwin's Game" has nice fight scenes, but that's about all I can think of from the anime.

The characters are completely flat across the board and the main protagonist has a thick layer of "plot armor" It's ok, but clearly more could have been made of it.

This series is a great combination of action and mystery and the way it ended was truly a masterpiece,it will never let you to get bored, perfectly scripted story,can't wait for the season 2,i just hope that you will not miss this anime. overall if you are looking for an action anime this series might do the work for you.

This anime is one of the best anime I've seen I watch more than 100 anime and this is great anmie just watch and you will never regret about it

The idea of the show is a bit overdone, but still interesting. The characters are so two dimensional and it's irritating watching some of the scenes. For example when the MC's romantic interest throws herself on MC without hesitation after only knowing him for two days, we don't even know anything about her, shouldn't the show establish who she is before throwing her into romantic scenes with someone she barley even knows? The only interesting character is the plant signal user who is stuck in a paradox of saving his daughter or taking his daughters father away from her. Everyone else can be boiled down with two words. Overall trash characters and so far trash writing, although it does have solid production and the theme of it is interesting. (Also the dub of this show is utter garbage)

Excellent plot, and Good figure both shuka and kaname

This anime has great animation and a good plot. The battle scenes gave me chills from the sound effects and storyline. I hope this gets more popular because I would really like to see a season 2!!

Awesome Sci Fi thrill ride, while keeping it realistic at the same time! The end to the season is so satisfying and exactly what I was hoping for. WE NEED SEASON 2!!!

An excellent series as long as you have a certain suspension of disbelief. There are a lot of impossible things to believe before breakfast. Survival of the fittest is obvious from the title. It reminded me of "The Game", that film from 1997 starring Michael Douglas. Of course, in that the confrontations were not deadly. They only made Douglas think they were. After all, this anime is supposed to be fun and exciting, not truly scary.

Episode one was the best comedy I've seen in years!! I laughed so hard I cried.

Oh, it's not a comedy? The dialogue and characters beg to differ.

The storyline itself seemed promising. But the execution of it leaves a lot to be desired and it plays out like some really (really) bad daytime soap opera.

I really enjoyed this anime, it had a great storyline and I also love the type of anime it is and that is those survival battle royal type ones.

The concept of this is pretty interesting and i imagine all gamers will love this anime definitely.

I do wish their were more episodes and especially the silence by Netflix on renewing season 2 seems odd and annoying considering what a hit following this had and it did amazing in viewership numbers so i do hope this year we see season 2 ^_^.

Actually this season 1 ended with such a great ending it really hypes u for season 2.

Even if it gets cancelled its like well.. the ending is still good cuz it wraps up most things but leaves future things to come up in the air as a possibility so theirs no feeling let down by the anime of they got cancelled.

The animation is very good and i do like the different array of characters in this even though some may say now n days theirs too many animes like this that involve fighting and battle royals but thats the beauty of it, all of the animes involving this theme come at the theme differently in their story telling and plotline.

Give this a shot and you will surely enjoy it.

It's well written and produced, the animation is beautiful, the action is awesome and the story is captivating and satisfying. The only downside to this anime is that its too short, 11 or 12 episodes is not enough, especially when the story is this good...

It's not merely trying to entertain you, it's trying to tell a story that is entertaining, hence the is intelligence and internal logic behind the story...

Anime like this is rare, most of it is senseless fan service with teasing story threads that never amount to anything apart from leading you on with delusions of grandeur...

Did not make it through the first episode, the idea in general isnt bad, but you just get thrown into a sequal with a stupid main charachter and a stupid plot, might actually become good, but when i see this main char already, 0 iq, just sits there and would let someone kill him.. and the firtst thing when someone in a pandacostum keeps stabbing into my friend, i will 100% just ignoree that stabbing panda and want to bring him into hospital, there is a panda trying to kill us bro, nah doesnt matter ill get you to the hospital, who cares if panda can just kill us both, i bring you to hospital :) sigh the iodea was really interesting but i rarely make it through an anime where the entire world seem to be completely mental degenrates.

All the people here saying this is a good plot LOOOOOL ITS NOT im not making it through the stupidity of the main char even through episode 1 and you wanna tell me this is a great plot and i woulod have to watch this stupid kid trying to survive 12 episodes, how damn stupid are his enemys if he really makes it out alive lmao.

Everything is wrong with this anime Bad characters, bad storyline, bad action, awful dialog.

Just save your time Go watch some of the classic animes but not this.
