Let's be honest, this movie was made PURELY as a JOKE! Nothing in this movie can be taken seriously and I am sure that was the point. They just wanted this movie to be as bad as it possibly could just to get some laughs. That being said, the action parts were good, the audio in some parts was just awful! And they get kudos for originality! I loved the phone that could do it all, that was very cool. So if you have nothing better to watch and love spy movies, this was like the spy version of "Not Another Teen Movie". I have honestly seen worse and at least this one was half good so it gets an honest 5 from me. Wish they had got a sexier spy though, the guy felt too old for the laughs they were trying to get. Worth a one time watch and I would recommend if nothing else catches your attention.
As I sat down to watch the 2022 action comedy "The Spy Who Never Dies", I must admit that I was expecting a bit more than what writer and director Corey Pearson actually managed to deliver here. Sure, I hadn't heard about the movie prior to watching it, but the movie's cover/poster and synopsis seemed interesting enough. And action comedies with a spy theme has been good in the past, so I figured why not.
"The Spy Who Never Dies" felt like a missed opportunity, because there was next to no comedy throughout the course of the movie. And that was a shame, because there were definitely lots of opportunity to incorporate comedy situations into the storyline. And the movie never really goes full out into action mode either, so you are left with a somewhat watered down action movie.
The movie has good performances from its cast ensemble, despite of the script and storyline not actually being the best of source material. I wasn't familiar with the cast in the movie, but I liked and enjoyed their performances. Especially Hafedh Dakhlaoui (playing The Dog Walker) and Ana Thu Nguyen (playing Lollypop) stood out as the most memorable of characters and performances.
There is a good pacing to the storyline and a fair amount of action actually. But without an overly entertaining storyline, then there was just so much that it could do for the movie.
My rating of "The Spy Who Never Dies" lands on a four out of ten stars.

This movie is chock-full with outstandingly beautiful women. Pretty much every scene has one or more of them in it. Their acting is ok. Other than that, it's silly and lenghty. They tried hard though, so...yeah. Still, no more than a watch on a rainy, lonely sunday morning, before getting outa bed. The jokes are either copied or plain lame. Thats about it. Except for the girls. The girls are just a bucket full of sexy.
The movie is bad , boring. It has bad acting , direction etc .
Dont waste your time . The rating of 8 out of 10 is fake.the movie language is australian english , i could not understand a single word spoken . It needs subtitles.

Grab some popcorn and have some fun. This is a medium lower budget flick that is not a 'joke' of a movie. There is some action, some comedy that was put together well enough to actually watch.
For its moderately lower budget, its worth a watch and I rate it a 5.

A man-too-old-for-the-part wants to get out of the spy business after he meets a VERY quirky girl, but still goes to save the Agency he works for while rushing through his relationship.
Straight out of the gate.. It's a dumb movie.
Just to set expectations : You can see the female lead's nipples (separately, and both by accident). So, they either found out and left it (because no one cared enough) or they missed it. There's even a take that is reused seconds after the first! Which is weird, considering this looks like it had decent enough production, CGI and with a good budget. As a spoof, it goes for a very unrealistic and comedic tone, which it consistently maintains. Sadly, it's not a good comedy and much less a spy film! Most of the cast has a charming, yet forgettable role (lots of pretty ladies). Has good choreography at times, satisfactory locations and camera work. Bad audio in some parts and a script that's just all over the place (with inklings of subversions for the genre, yet employs very cliched outcomes just to keep things moving).
I didn't have any expectations, started to enjoy myself, and then it got boring towards the end. Not sure if I would have enjoyed it more if I had watched it with someone else. I wouldn't recommend to anyone, or would watch again.
At least, the trailer got me curious enough to try it.

The comedy style is like for 4 years old kids, yet the movie's action sequences and bad language content force it to be watched by adults.
After reading some of the reviews, I really tried my best to watch around 20 min but the "comedy" was so mediocre, I felt coming out of it less intelligent than when I started. It was painful.

I didn't expect much and it lived up to expectations. Got bored less than half way through with its really bad comedy routines. Easy of my time watching it up to point I stated to check my emails.

This movie is a good six or seven stars. The direction, acting, camera angles and writing was great. Now there was some things that were BEE-yond BEE-liveable, but it was fun movie. Assassins' where funny and the I couldn't stop laughing about the big load. If you have time to kill and you like well done campy movies. Then this is the one for you.
It is clear that this is a mockery of an spy but all together Tom and Jerry is more enjoyable and this was a total waste of time.

Given the restrictions of Covid making production difficult if not close to impossible, the quality of the film is very surprising. Without any high profile actors the director has manage to produce a very enjoyable and lite hearted take all the big blockbuster action and spy genre. It's worth a second watch to catch all the stuff you missed from a first viewing because of you were busy laughing.
There are two ways of viewing this film.
If you want a hot action movie with a great story - you won't like this!
If you are looking for some far from serious fun and a complete micky-take of the 007 genre - you will enjoy this!
Money has been spent on the cgi and there is a bevy of beauties with good action throughout. It ain't going to win an Oscar but if you are in the right frame of mind, it is 100 minutes of frivolous entertainment that is quite amusing in places. Best served with large quantities of (Australian) beer and hot wings.

It feels like the cast did the best with the material provided. Maybe the director should find a better writer (eg not himself) or find a writing buddy. The actual production is really very good. Some of the shots use excessive different angles but I think that might have been somebody trying to compensate for the script.
Clearly with the title it was meant to be a parody but sadly, if you don't quite get enough references to other films, it can just come across like a poor version of the film it could have been.
Best parts: Good lighting Good filming Good sound and careful music Obviously COVID time production Special Effects on a Budget
Average Parts: Good editing Some fight scenes
Poor Parts Storyline.

Because they are complete idiots !!!
Complete lack of story, bad acting - worse even for B category , bad jokes (how can you make fun by killing pets ?).
Even the preview will make you feel sorry for the lost time.

I wasn't familiar with any of the cast in this, however, that's not a bad thing. I wasn't sure what to expect from this move, apart from "Action, Comedy, Romance". Most of it was acted well enough, however, the story felt a little "I will try this and see how it works". There wasn't enough Action or Comedy, the potential was there though. Perhaps the director (Corey Pearson) will get more confident with experience. I would recommend this.

For a budget action comedy, this is up there.
Action is real well done, the comedy is cheese, but I loved it. Kept me real entertained. Give it a shot!

Parodies are never works of art. That being said, if you have seen a lot of Spy-movies you will like (like, not love) this one.
It is not over the top like Leslie Nielsen or Mel Brooks, it stays closer to being real. I loved how the main character is super-confident all the time, the load of gadgets and how every idiotic situation is taken seriously.
Actually pretty decent fighting scenes.
Of course the dialogues could be better. Also a lot of fast talking so unintelligible from time to time. Perhaps too many characters who looked alike, rather confusing.
But if you are up for some fun and don't mind too much it is not always professional give it a go, trust me ;-)

Well done overall. It's not a serious movie, it's the spy equivalent of Scary Movie. It's a parody of spy movies. If you're up for people making semi-serious fun of outrageous spy movies, this is it. It comes off as the modern version of some of the Leslie Nielsen movies.

I watched this film and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had no expectations going into it. Thee action was good, balance of comedy and bit of funny romance. It was light hearted, effects were done well for an Australian film. You can see in some parts its not a huge budget film but overall I think it does just as good of a job. Easy popcorn film to watch.

This entirely Australian production was actually entertaining, especially under the proper conditions, of which we had. I watched this with a bunch of friends, partaking in alcoholic beverages and natures recreational pharmaceuticals - strictly for medicinal purposes of course, and as cheesy as this spy parody was, we laughed and enjoyed it more than expected.
It's nothing revolutionary, but this was written, produced and directed by newb filmmaker Corey Pearson as his third film, and he did not disappoint. It was very professionally directed, and although his Aussie cast are not seasoned pros, he directed them perfectly and they all performed just as well. The story is decent for its genre, and any cliches went quite well with the parody. The humor was dry and stale, but the actors did such a great job with their body language and facial expressions, they pulled off the laughs very well, especially considering its a parody. Even the action scenes were choreographed great, especially the bathroom scene. Pearson used the 96 min runtime effectively and paced the entire film just right. The cinematography and score were excellent, especially for an international newbie's B film.
All in all it's a fun one-time watch, especially if you enjoy parodies, and making fun of the spy genre. We saw Double Threat just before this one and we cringed and could barely finish it, so this one was a refreshing change of some real entertainment. Thus, it's a well deserved 7/10 from me.

Action rom-coms rarely get good ratings since the comedy part always makes the movie seems stupid. But at least it's pretty funny, so if you're looking to kill some time, this will keep you entertained for a certain amount of time. Takes your mind off anything you don't wanna be thinking. I give this one a 6, cause I see the production value and cinematography aren't too shabby. At least it doesn't look as bad as indie movies. So in my opinion, giving this movie ratings below 6 is just a douche-move. Some people have worked hard making this movie, you know? Give them the appreciation they deserve.
As a 007 spoof, really funny and entertaining.
Shout out to the supporting cast, especially the actors who played James and the lollipop girl. The sort of humour that makes you cringe in your seat, not because it's bad but because you feel bad for the character in the movie.
"My babies, my babies." Hahaha.

Well, a 600 minimum character required review is going to be a bit of a stretch for this easy to watch spy spoof. Look, much of this movie including , the script, the acting, the comedy, the budget, the effects, the editing, the comedic timing, the action sequences, is I must admit, on the whole, fits into the class of average. Yes, no big awards for this one, no role out the red carpet and guzzle buckets of champers with scantily clad women for this film. However, if you cracked a beer for your self, and maybe a cool aid for the kids, slipped the shoes off, and stretched back on the recliner rocker and relaxed, you might just find you enjoy it. Some how it is a bit of fun. Enjoy.

Enjoyed it, was a fun watch and great location shots. Needed more swearing and some mild nudity to bolster the overall film... but great Australian talent on show.
