It's a very heartwarming film . Can be watched with the whole family . Though it does lag a bit at some points , it's quite manageable. And the parallel stories were great too . It's a feel good one time watch .

- Watched the movie in Netflix. Running time abt 2 hr 24 mts.
- Story is simple.
- Great acting by main 4 actors especially Suresh Gopi. Apart from main 4, I liked Urvashi's and Johnny Antony's roles.
- I felt second half was way better than the first half. In first half, it fails to connect and relate certain characters and in second half it answers it all.
- There are some good emotional scenes in the second half. SG's speech at the climax was fantastic.
- Final Verdict: A very good feel good movie.

First off, kudos to the Malayalam superstars. Dulquer Salmaan (for backing this) and Director Anoop Sathyan for being the master craftsman.
Secondly, how does Kerala's cinema manage to impress us all with simplistic stories and presentation? Especially when they are filmed in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Tamil films these days (outside of Shankar and Gautham Menon) often show us a grungy feel, often depressing. The presentation shown here makes Chennai look like a million bucks. Even Bollywood has exhaustively shown films set in the gullys of Mumbai/Delhi/Punjab.
Coming to the film itself. The movie could have easily gone off track with the multiple tracks (Nikki-Teacher, Bipeesh-his brother-Akashavani, Unnikrishnan-Teacher, etc.) but everything here is inter-woven so well, you're invested in the proceedings.
There are many standout scenes, especially with Urvashi. Her scenes are a scream and her scenes with Nikki (Kalyani) will likely leave you teary-eyed. Suresh Gopi as the retired Major, Unnikrishnan shows that time hasn't been kind to him, but man when he delivers, he delivers. His speech in the climax is just outstanding. Then there's Shobana (what grace!), KPAC Lalitha (another stealer as the serial artiste and caretaker of Bipeesh and his brother). Enough has been said about Dulquer's efforts, he continues to deliver here, but the MVP is Kalyani Priyadarshan. The scope she didn't get in her previous Tamil film, HERO, she got the right opportunity and scope for performance and she SOARS.
Go watch it. Dear, Tamil filmmakers, you can still make feel-good family entertainers without resorting to bumbling comedians like Soori, Sathish, Rajendran and Yogi Babu adding reels and irritating us. Even a Santosh Subramaniyam (despite being a Telugu remake) is still repeat worthy than say a "Seema Raja" or a "Varthapadatha Valibar Sangam."

I watched this movie after hearing lot of good reviews/cast interviews. To be frank, felt this movie as just (slightly above) average. Didn't get the satisfaction matching to the hype it made. Though there are some beautiful sequences here and there, the script has flaws that affects the continuity of the film at many places. The saving grace in this movie is Suresh Gopy who has made a memorable comeback to Malayalam industry after a long break. DQ has very few scenes here and there and less combination scenes with Kalayani Priyadarshan in the whole movie as one (at least me) would expect. Overall a good movie, but definitely not a stunning movie for me.

Nothing new in terms of story telling, nor the songs were pleasing and the movie on the whole was pretty boring.
You will absolutely love this movie. Suresh Gopi and Sobana yet again proved what they are capable of. The storyline is beautiful. I will rate 5/5. Must watch movie

Varane Avashyamund comes packed with all the elements required for the quintessential feel-good flick. With no pathbreaking storyline and twists to boast of, what keeps Varane Avashyamund an engrossing 140-minute watch are the performances from the ensemble, often rising above the commonplace nature of the script. Don't get me wrong - Anoop Sathyan's writing does offer some great situational laughs (at times, the way his father's films did) but it unabashedly rides on the effervescence of the performers.
Kudos to DQ for picking a less prominent role in the script, not taking valuable screen-time away from the folks who deserve it - I'm referring to the nostalgic pairing of Suresh Gopi (who plays Major Unnikrishnan) and Shobana (who plays Neena). They both play their age, one a retired army veteran and the other a divorced French tutor, residing in a rather-upscale apartment complex in Chennai. When I mention Chennai, I like how Anoop sets up the city as a character of its own. Everyone who has visited or lived in Chennai at some point in their lives (or still do) will strike a chord with it.
Nikitha (Kalyani Priyadarshan), as opposed to most urban women in their mid-20s, is keen on finding her matrimonial match the conventionally arranged way. While this happens on one side, her rather-romantic mother finds love the way love is usually found - spontaneous, unexpected, and a classic case of 'opposites attract'. The slice-of-life feels are amped up by the presence of next-door neighbor Bibeesh (a.k.a Fraud - DQ), Major Unnikrishnan's counselor Dr. Bose (Johnny Antony), Dr. Sherly (Urvashi) - the mother of one of Nikitha's prospective grooms, and many other familiar characters.
Kalyani Priyadarshan makes a relatively okay acting debut - the smile is very cute, but the emoting needs to improve (well, it's just her first film!). The seniors especially put up a good show, often giving their new-gen counterparts a run for their money. Suresh Gopi is great fun to watch in his restrained (but rarely explosive) avatar while Shobana retains her on-screen grace. Urvashi too is a wonderful addition to the cast and her scenes with Kalyani are heartwarming.
The referencing of dialogues from the cult classics of Malayalam cinema (including the famous "Gange!") needed more bite. Plus, the lack of a substantial plot really starts to eat into the screenplay, more so in the second half. The liveliness of the cast really helps keep things watchable throughout. Varane Avishyamund carries the vibe of an upgraded Sathyan Anthikkad flick - family over everything, of course!

Well made movie for all Shobana Fans & Suresh Gopi Fans... A good family entertainer..A Fresh Movie... Anoop proved his talent in his first movie itself... Shobana was divine and simply proved that her Queen crown is Permanent..Noone can even touch....
Everyone in the movie did 100% justice to their role..
Nee vayen aarumugha song in chithra chechy voice is beyond words..Kudoos to Alphonse Sir....Moreover this combo of KS Chithra and Shobana is coming after a long gap of 20 years..the last one being "Varthinkal udikatha" in 1999.
Dq was too good You will love him......Hard to believe that it is kalyani's debut. Perfect acting. Urvashis powerful dialogues are still in my mind..KPAC Lalitha is like salt, required everywhere..Dubbing artist sreeja was wonderful and the the Doctor was bestest comedian in the movie..The lttle brother of DQ is smart.
A special happiness when we hear Shobana in Bhagyalakshmi's sound....Good Dubbing for kalyani too..
Though little, i love the fight scenes too...
In somepoint you will feel the sequence is getting missed somewhere.. But not a big deal..All together it is too good.....
When the movied ended i really wished if it continued for 10 more minutes.. I am not saying it is 100 % perfect movie. But from a debutant director, i would say this is the bestest. In other words, You wont feel that it is from a new director...that is it.
You can take your kids and watch the movie for 2.5 hours with full fun....

Althought the plot goes here and there with no character development, the movie is cute with good performances from the cast. Special mention to Suresh Gopi and Shobhana who came back to the fold with a bang. Definitely watchable.

An over hyped movie with lot of paid positive reviews is what I will tell.
I could not find a single element in the script which was interesting. The script lacked subject and this was evident from the dragging nature of the whole movie. Apart from few minor humor here and there the experience was totally boring.
Had a chat with many people who watched the movie and also few people who were at the cinema. Not even a single person told positive about it. Still I see lot of 5 * rating and reviews.
The story line lacked continuity and was not convincing at most of the places.
The characters and the whole environment where the story line is setup is also completely non convincing and over dramatic.
Overall a complete waste of time and money.

This is fully prepared with comedy and drama with little bit occupation of sentiments.the story describe the plot of some family members in a specific flat apartment and throws a funny feel good thread of occurance between them.film mostly focused on shobhana, kalyani and suresh gopi while dulquer is appearing in a lesser important charecter. Its a true funny family movie which put a smile on your face through out movie. There is no huge virtual script or something like that. It is fully developed on a narrow theread of story line without any shaky moment's. People who is seeking for a nice and feel good movie for just a fun and time pass can buy a ticket. The ones who is seeking epic stories and film of plot twists and varities of threads may not love through such expectations

Good storyline with bit of humor to make you smile. It evolves around to shows who love can be at its unadulterated form and to beautiful it's. It also talks about need of having conversation within all of our relationship to keep the boat floating. One of the best performance by Johnny Anthony on screen.

This is interestingly packaged, soulful movie that could have been better, but deserves a watch as it is.
There is nothing outstanding about the story, the characters or direction, but somehow the actors managed to bring out a magic on screen and makes this an enjoyable movie (even mesmerizing at time).

Wondering why did DQ Salman do a movie like this.. it must be the worst move of his career so far.. the director wasted the star cast... no story whatsoever... director sir please dont make movies like this.. I can understand this is your first movie but that is not an excuse for such a bad script and direction.. the edit was also bad...

Every character did played their role perfectly but the magic that should all the parts together was missing. Cute little stories with lovely relationships and bondings. But I think that was not very much sufficient to bind the audience and take into the story.

The movie has a really basic story, but the acting is quite good, and the cast delivers heartfelt performances that bring the characters to life. The chemistry between the leads is evident and adds depth to the overall experience. The main issue with the movie is its length, which feels unnecessarily stretched. At over two hours, it tries to explore subplots and character arcs that don't add much to the central theme. Additionally, it has a very slow beginning that might test the patience of viewers. The first half feels like it could have been condensed significantly, as it takes too long to establish the premise. However, it's worth noting that the build-up does eventually pay off in the last 30 minutes, which are quite impactful and satisfying.
The film does a great job of creating a feel-good atmosphere, especially for fans of romantic dramas. The emotional beats in the climax are heartwarming, and the resolution is rewarding for those who stick with it. That said, I personally think it could be 45 to 50 minutes shorter. Trimming down the slow start and cutting some of the unnecessary scenes would make it more refreshing and engaging. As it stands, the pacing makes the movie feel a bit draggy, and the slower sections may cause some viewers to lose interest.
Still, I would recommend it if you enjoy feel-good romance with strong performances. The emotional moments and the eventual payoff make it worth a watch. However, for those looking for a unique story or a more fast-paced narrative, this might not be the best choice. While it does offer a sweet and touching experience, it doesn't break any new ground in terms of storytelling, and its predictable nature might not appeal to everyone. If you have the patience to get through the slower parts, it's a charming film with some memorable moments.

Simply superb acting by everyone keeps you hooked. Though the scenes have no real sequence the good acting from all keeps u entertained. A cute movie worth a one time watch..Suresh Gopi and the new girl priydarsans daughter has all the claps. It's like good number of well-done skits put together as a movie.
