The original Anaconda has a large cult following, and, while it not heavily praised upon it's initial release, has become enough of a cult classic creature feature to help bring about it's reboot's inception.
This movie was made in China by a Chinese company and the entire acting staff and crew are Chinese but for some reason the currency they show on screen is in American dollars (0:3:00 into movie).
It as been said that the reboot will be a "reimagining" of the original film with a much bigger budget. The reboot is shooting for the similar success that Crawl and The Meg had.
