Sneak Peek actress Nina Dobrev, star of The CW's 'vampire' TV series "The Vampire Diaries" in a new pictorial and video for the September 2013 issue of "Cosmopolitan" Magazine.
The Canadian actress started her performance career by modeling followed by commercials, then film acting in the features "Fugitive Pieces", "Away from Her" and "Never Cry Werewolf", before scoring a part in the long-running TV series, "Degrassi: The Next Generation".
After appearing in a number of Lifetime original movies, she played in the MTV movie "The American Mall", before landing the lead in The CW's vampire series "The Vampire Diaries".
In the series, still going strong, Dobrev plays the dual role of 'Katherine Pierce', a vampire loved by two human brothers during the American Civil War and Katherine's doppelgänger 'Elena Gilbert', a human who is caught between the same two brothers, who are now the vampires, 'Damon' and 'Stefan Salvatore'.

Nina Dobrev has never been involved romantically with Ian Somerhalder. Although she and her co-star on "The Vampire Diaries" often become the subjects of romance rumors, the 22-year-old actress told the April issue of Teen Vogue that they never take their on-screen romance off-screen.
When the subject was brought up in the interview, the Ally Shepherd of "The American Mall" admitted, "We expected the rumors. Like, if I wasn't dating Ian, I'd be dating Paul [Wesley]." She further pointed out, "A lot of people who work together end up dating, so it wouldn't be unusual, but I've never dated anyone I've worked with."
During the chat, the TV beauty also opened up about the downside of her newfound fame. On being followed around by paparazzi, she shared, "I just feel like a normal girl, and the whole concept is very odd to me. But other people, like Ian, have had that experience before,...

When Zap2it visited the Atlanta set of "The Vampire Diaries" set this December, below-freezing temps and blustery winds had everyone bundling up, so we were happy to get out of the cold, especially with the always warm and welcoming Katerina Graham for company.
It was just a few days after the episode "The Sacrifice" aired, in which Graham's cover of the Garbage classic "Only Happy When It Rains" was used in the soundtrack, so of course, we had to ask about hearing her music on the show.
Graham confirms that she recorded the cover specifically with "Tvd" in mind. "I just wanted to do a song for the show, because I couldn't use anything that was in my actual catalog, because it's all, you know, poppy. It's like a gay disco," she laughs. "I was like 'This isn't going to work. I'll just do a song and submit it,...

Stefan will find himself powerless against Katherine's temptation on the December 9 episode of "The Vampire Diaries". Nina Dobrev, the actress playing the evil vampire character, has shared her insight on the steamy hook-up between the two former lovers when speaking to EW recently.
The 21-year-old beauty first spilled on Katherine's thought when Stefan gets stuck in the tomb with her. "When Stefan came in," she noted, "she's like, 'Wow, I couldn't have planned this better if I tried. The one person I want to be stuck with, here he is, and now he's got nowhere to go. I will seduce him, I will tease him, I will anger him.' "
The actress who also plays protagonist Elena then pointed out, "The line between love and hate truly is very, very thin. So she has a chance to egg him on, and he can't do anything about it." She added, "He...

Nina Dobrev has came out to support "The Vampire Diaries" at this year's San Diego Comic Con. News that she will get to kiss at least one of the Salvatore brothers in the second season.
Asked whether she will be kissing Ian Somerhalder in the new season, the actress who portrays both Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce in The CW's series played it coy by answering, "I will be kissing at least one Salvatore brother this season." On which Salvatore brother she wants Elena to be with, she declared, "Defan! Their undiscovered brother who is the perfect mix between the two."

The search for America’s favorite dancer is back! “So You Think You Can Dance” kicked off its fifth season last week, and last night, we got the chance to see the Miami and Memphis auditions, where thousands of pointy-toed contemporary dancers and bright-eyed poppers and lockers showed up for the chance to dance their way into America’s heart and to go on to a life of fame and fortune … or not.
Wait — where are all the former “Sytycd” contestants? As Kris Allen basks in the glory of his “American Idol” win, we couldn’t help but wonder what life after “Sytycd” looks like.
Since focusing on the competition’s winners would be a tad depressing (where is Sabra Johnson?), we decided to look back at what the show’s most successful, or at least most visible, graduates are doing now — and where you can find them next:

Her previous experience included working on the sets of films and television shows like Smallville, The Dead Zone and The American Mall.
Now that the series she has worked on since 2006 will be coming to a close, Summers talked to AfterEllen.com about what a lesbian looks like, which actress she loves to pick out clothes for and what she was thinking with that hat for Papi.
AfterEllen.com: What kind of research did you do before you figured out how each individual character should be dressed on The L Word?

Although Ari Folman's "Waltz With Bashir" did not make the shortlist of 15 films under consideration for the best documentary Oscar, it is among the nominees for the DGA's doc award, announced Friday.
"Waltz" will compete with Gonzalo Arijon's "Stranded: I've Come From a Plane that Crashed on the Mountains," in which survivors of a 1972 Andes plane crash tell their story; Elizabeth Farnsworth and Patricio Lanfranco's "The Judge and the General," a look back at the investigation into the regime of Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet; Peter Gilbert & Stevie James' "At the Death House Door," an examination of the wrongful conviction of a Texas man executed for murder; and James Marsh's "Man on Wire," a study of tight-rope walker Philippe Petit.
All the nominees are first-time DGA nominees, with the exception of Gilbert (who won the DGA's doc award in 1998 for "Vietnam: Long Time Coming" and was...

It's been another good summer for cable.
Summer 2008 may not have generated as many ratings headlines for cable as last year, when Disney Channel's "High School Musical 2" blew away viewership records and there was a higher number of original scripted series bows.
But the ad-supported cable networks still are hitting record viewership deliveries this summer. According to Turner Research data released Tuesday, the sector collectively is averaging 6 million more primetime viewers than 2004, the most recent year that included a presidential election and a Summer Olympics.
That group, which includes most basic cable networks with exceptions like Disney Channel, is averaging 51 million total viewers in primetime from May 26-Aug. 17, continuing an annual trend of growing summertime viewership. That figure represents a 13% increase over 2004 but less than a 1% increase over 2007.
Turner chief research officer Jack Wakshlag said summer TV viewing overall is on the rise for a few reasons, including a...

Whoever thought that the High School Musical is nearly over is dead wrong. In fact, the overly successful Disney movie is hitting the big screen soon, with the film being released in October. Now MTV is getting into the game with The American Mall, a new movie musical premiering tonight at 9pm.
Tired of the same old cheesy inspirational songs and love duets in the youthful High School Musical? Don’t give up just yet. MTV's The American Mall is an edgier, sexier version. In fact, the setting of the movie is not in high school, but—you guessed it—at a typical American mall, where the older crowd go for retail therapy and relaxation while hanging out with their friends. So what exactly separates this film from the gigantically successful High School Musical (aside from its setting)?
"We deal with more adult issues," said Blythe Auffarth, one of the movie musical's hot young stars.
