Oscilloscope Laboratories has acquired U.S. rights to music video director Romain Gavras' feature film debut "Our Day Will Come," starring Vincent Cassel. The film had its world premiere recently at The Toronto International Film Festsival. The company plans to release it across all digital platforms October 22. Gavras is best known for helming the videos to Jay Z and Kanye West's hit "No Church in the Wild," and M.I.A.'s anthem "Bad Girls." Here's the synopsis per Oscilliscope: In "Our Day Will Come," two outcast redheads – a bullied teen and a psychologist – embark on a journey to Ireland, where they believe the color of their hair will be embraced. What begins as a quest for freedom gradually descends into a rampage of violence and destruction.

Image Entertainment has acquired all Us rights to the $30m Dean Koontz adaptation directed by Stephen Sommers and will release in first quarter 2014. Separately, Oscilloscope has picked up Us rights to Our Day Will Come.

Producers Odd Thomas John Baldecchi, Howard Kaplan and Sommers introduced the project at Afm 2011 through international sales agent Kathy Morgan.

Anton Yelchin, Willem Dafoe and Addison Timlin star in Sommers’ adaptation of the first in a seven-book series about a clairvoyant short-order cook who finds himself at the centre of a war between light and dark.

“Director Stephen Sommers’s spectacular style and extraordinary vision translates so well to the big screen for this material,” said Image chief acquisitions officer Bill Bromiley. “We are proud to distribute the film and introduce the magical world of Odd Thomas to a wider audience.”

Bromiley, Mark Ward and Jess De Leo negotiated the deal on behalf of Image with Paul Hudson for the filmmakers.

Producers Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi have come together to create “Lioness: Hidden Treasures,” a posthumous set of songs recorded by Amy Winehouse throughout her career. “Our Day Will Come” was recorded during the “Frank” period, but intentionally left off the album, according to Remi. All the proceeds from the album will go to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, a charity set up in the singer’s memory to “bring healthier and happier lives to young people.”

Amy Winehouse's highly anticipated posthumous album was released on Friday and, as expected, fans' feelings towards it have been mixed.

The album was put together by two of Winehouse's favourite producers, her friend Mark Ronson - who famously collaborated with the singer on Zutons' cover Valerie - and Salaam Remi who worked with her on her debut LP Frank.

Critics have claimed the record, which features 12 tracks made up of unreleased material, covers and alternative versions of previously released tracks, should never have been released - their argument being that, had they been Winehouse's finest songs, they would have made the cut while she was alive.

Ronson also admitted he initially said no to making a legacy album - because he was still mourning her death.

However, Winehouse's family, particularly her father Mitch, said they would not have released the album unless they thought it reached the standard of her previous records.

Lioness: Hidden Treasures is the first (possibly of many) posthumous albums and compilations from Amy Winehouse. Mark Ronson, Salaam Remi and Amy’s family compiled this collection of songs and proceeds from the album go to the foundation set up in the wake of her passing; The Amy Winehouse Foundation. It has been clearly stated by her label that this is not the follow up to her certified platinum 2006 album Back to Black but more a collection of songs ranging from before her debut, Frank in 2002 up to her tragic passing earlier this year. The album features covers, demos and duets that showcase her talents and versatility.

The forces behind the posthumous Dec. 6 Amy Winehouse album Lioness: Hidden Treasures have put together an official video for the album's reggae-inspired track "Our Day Will Come," using photo and video footage of the old-souled singer. Winehouse covered the 60s doo-wop song in 2002, but it stayed hidden to the public until earlier this month. The sight of her smiling and taking the stage is eerie to say the least. Throw that voice into the background, and it's downright haunting.

The world got its first taste of Amy Winehouse's upcoming posthumous album, Lioness: Hidden Treasures, when the late singer's duet with rapper pal Nas premiered on New York's Hot 97 on Wednesday.

The tune from the album, due December 6, is called "Like Smoke," and it was recorded in May 2008 and produced by Amy's longtime collaborator Salaam Remi. It features Winehouse singing in her signature slurry blues drawl over a classic Motown downbeat as Mr. Jones serves up some of his knotty verses.
