The series was originally going to span 5 seasons, but ended after one season because it became too expensive to produce more episodes. Hence why certain things that were hinted at or left to be revealed in future episodes were left unexplained, and why the season 1 finale ended on a major cliffhanger.
Motion-controlled camera systems were used during the series' production. Elliott Animation used Gamecaster's GCS3 system to manipulate the virtual camera in real time, not only removing the need for key framing, but also staying within budget.
