Realism has never been more in demand. And Sanjay Dutt who until recently was doing mainly fantasy is now on the realistic route. He'll soon start Raj Kumar Santoshi's film set in the Partition period. Dutt also plays a real-life cop in Rahul Dholakia's Lamhaa set at the heart of Kashmiri militancy. And now, Sanjay Dutt will take time off to play a real-life cop who waged a fierce battle against terrorism in Punjab at the peak of Khalistan movement. Apoorva Lakhia, who has been in hibernation after the ill-fated Mission Istaanbul, is all set make a comeback with a film on the cops who battled Khalistani extremism. The terror situation in Punjab during the 70s and 80s will be recreated through rigorous research on that period. Lakhia says the film will occupy the same gritty real-time-real-space as his film Shootout At Lokhandwala. Sanjay Dutt will be playing a real-life cop,...

Apoorva Lakhia is turning producer with a supernatural thriller that will launch Ponds Femina Miss India 2006 Amruta Patki as its leading lady. Lakhia apparently chose the aspirant after auditioning almost a dozen newcomers. "I want to prove beauty queens can act," says Lakhia, though it's not Lakhia, but his assistant Sean Arranha who will direct Amruta Patki. Says Lakhia, "I won't only produce the film but also co-write it with Suresh Nair. Hide N Seek is about four friends played by Purab Kohli, Arjan Bajwa, Ayaaz Khan (Genelia's fiance in Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na) and Samir Kochhar whose terrible past catches up with them." Lakhia is taking his duties as a producer very seriously. "My director Sean is just a baby. We need to nurture new talent not intimidate them," says Lakhia probably referring to the way Lakhia was treated by his producer Sanjay Gupta during the making of Shootout At Lokhandwala.

Zayed Khan is a trained scuba diver but he had a totally different challenge to face while shooting for his new movie ‘Blue’.
Well, we understand why he’s to do things like these. His career isn’t happening at all with even supposedly big movies like ‘Mission Istaanbul’ and ‘Yuvvraaj’ flopping.
The lad wasn’t very comfortable swimming with the sharks for his new movie ‘Blue’ which also stars Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar, Lara Dutta and Katrina Kaif, together with about forty sharks. But he had to do it.
