On Tuesday, 21st June 2022, comedian Zoe Lyons posted on Twitter announcing that the fast paced quiz show would not be returning for a third series. The BBC confirmed that "Lightning has had two great series but we need to make room for new opportunities. We'd like to thank Zoe and the team for all their hard work."
