Now, before you come at me thinking "7? Why only a 7 if you enjoyed it so much?", Hear me out. I played Maneater on PS4, I bought it full price at launch, and 100% completed it. The game is quite fun, but still disappointing.
Pros: +Satisfying violence. +Fun mini-bosses (Apex Predators). +Chris Parnell. +Interesting collectables. +Arcade style battle system. +Shark/Ocean facts. +Fun mutations/powers.
Cons: -Short overall playtime. -Lack of playable sharks. -Only 3 collectable "gear" sets. -Repetitive missions/fights. -Little-to-no replayability.
I had so much fun playing Maneater, and they utilise Chris Parnell's narrative ability very well in this game. Overall I felt disappointed, but still satisfied with my $60AUD purchase. The story did not last long, but it was exactly what was advertised and I didn't expect anything crazy from the dev team. I do hope they release future DLC or even another title, because it would be a lot of fun playing again as different sharks, or even just adding new gear sets.

Maneater, for the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, is an insanely fun and addictive shark-RPG game; especially for avid shark enthusiasts like myself. Though that's not to say it's pitch perfect. The combat is flawed and disorienting, and you may encounter the occasional glitch. That being said, there are a lot of wide, beautifully-rendered areas to explore, a lot of different animals and people to eat, and a lot of ways you can evolve/upgrade your shark to become a more efficient predator. So if you like open-world RPG chaos games like GTA, but wish you could be an oceanic killing machine, I'd say it's worth the thirty bucks.
At first I didn't really care for this game mostly it looked to complicated and boring, but after playing I was pretty satisfied. I does have its flaws like the Ps3 rendered graphics which I do have to say look bad sometimes. Also the game could have a bigger open world game than what we got l instead. You only have 3 sets of cosmetics or looks for you your shark to use, plus you can only play as one species of shark. Other than that the game plays very well with lots blood and cool movesets. There are plenty of easterggs that are so awesome and that narrator is so dope. I mention its strengths and its weaknesses, evan though not a great game its still really fun to see another open world shark game.

This game was always on my purchase list, however to my surprise as part of Januarys PlayStation Plus PS5 release, this game was the pick of the month.
Overall, i enjoyed swimming around eating everything i came across, fish and human alike.
The only downside is the lack of customization for your shark as well as the overall duration of the game. It took me around 10 hours to complete the main storyline including a lot of the side missions as well.
The sole purpose of the game is to eat everything you can, which if that is for you then this game provides that service.

This game is a perfect for the sea lovers(in some kinda way). It's a perfect summer blockbuster that is meant to be fun and it is. Upgrading and traveling across the map finding and fighting predators of the sea is so fun. This game has such a good combat and mechanics,in the game kinda way It's not perfect tho, sometimes it is annoying and the plot is basic and that's why am saying that's it litteraly just for fun. DLC is okay Tho,it is still fun but kinda the same as the main game just some new predators and upgrades, and of course almost no plot or story. Well I certanly very enjoyed playing this game and that's why I gave it a rating 8/10.

This is an open world RPG where the player (tries to) control a shark and steadily climb the food chain. As you eat and grow you are able to move from swamp to lake to coast to open sea, finding increasing threats but also better ways to fight. The key is unlocking mods for parts of your body that give you special powers and make you look badass.
The main story is interesting because of the way it is told, making your enemy the main character, and you the shark actually the villain (one might disagree, but what's true is that nobody's innocent in this game). Being an open world RPG, you can also spend time exploring and doing secondary quests like hunts or boss fights, which unfortunately tend to be repetitive. The game is not too long though, and eventually you can witness the glorious ending.
On the other hand, I have to say that the controls are horrible, it's really hard to bite or float or dive the way you want to, so it can be really frustrating.

Main game is great save for not always feeling like a super sized, powerful megalodon. The dlc tho?.... Save your money. DLC is absolute garbage. $15 garbage at that. It uses broken mechanics, tasks that have absolutely nothing to do with the game or story, and the NPC's are on you like white on rice. Avoid the DLC, but the main game is fun for a while.

This is what I wanted Jaws Unleashed to play and feel like, but unfortunately it was down right unplayable, how it got released unfinished baffles me. This game is freaking awesome I love playing as a mega female bull shark, getting some sweet blood filled water revenge. Truly epic game played In third person, it's everything I hoped and wanted in a shark simulator game, definitely the best In the genre.
