Cursed Forever is about a girl who gets followed around by an evil doll. Think Twilight Zone meets Mean Girls.
I like Japanese movies and pop culture and wanted to try to shoot a movie in a foreign country and see what's happens and if I can do it.
Raising money and financing the movie was the hardest part. I paid for everything out of my own pocket and having to go months without eating properly was tough.
The crew all spoke English and they're from all parts of the world. The Japanese cast for a the most part did not speak English. The script was in Japanese so they understood the story and scenes and to the actors credit they all did try to speak and understand English. Additionally by luck the actors I cast were all experienced and very professional, they sort of understood what I was trying to do. Lastly I did always have someone on set that was bilingual.
