Edgar Michael Bravo finished the first draft of the script within one month of meeting the young women the story was based on.
Lead actress Kelly-Ann Tursi did not know about the project until she was contacted by the producers who discovered her head shot from a casting website. She was cast based on an improvised scene she later submitted.
