In one scene, a portrait of Davy Crockett is seen on the wall: it's the same portrait that appeared in Leslie Nielsen's house in Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult (1994) as an in-joke from director David Zucker.
The woman who says "I gave up an ass lift for this?" is played by Kelsey Grammer's wife, Camille Grammer.
While the movie was made by and with conservative Republicans and propagates many beliefs of the American political right wing, it is on the back of the German DVD release advertised as a parody of those and American culture itself.
