Curfew

1 review

Bud's career winds down, whimpering

If I took a blindfold test, one of the least likely pornographers I would attribute "Curfew" to is its director Bud Lee. One of his final features, this gonzo junker has none of his cleverness, panache or even craftsmanship to show for itself.

Gimmick is a set of teenage girls all grounded by their parents due to misbehavior. The separate vignettes are weakly linked by recurring phone calls, basically a young girl complaining to her friend about her stuck at home predicament and inviting a girl or boy to come over and amuse (read: have sex, of course) her.

The resulting sex is mechanical and the cast only so-so. The beauty Diana Doll is always great to watch, but preposterously passed off as one of the teenagers: not only is she 32 when this was shot but she always has had a sophisticated, Continental look far removed from such a Valley Girl role.

Annabelle Lee finishes the show with her inevitable lesbian scene, far less arousing than any random one she's performed for a variety of Lesbian labels like Girlfriends, Abigail and Sweetheart. Sloppiness occurs when Madison Scott on the phone calls her Meredith, and her character name turns out to be, you guessed it, Anna Belle.
