This must be one of the lamest movies I&#39;ve ever seen. It&#39;s really bad. I can&#39;t say anything good about most of the actors. The guy playing the main character fails to produce a credible portrayal. I wonder, why he was chosen for this rather big role. He just stands around, or smiles, or looks awkwardly, or kisses the girl. And this is it. Definitely not enough, I&#39;d say. Unfortunately also many of his fellow actors don&#39;t display the kind of talent you&#39;re looking for when watching a movie on the big screen. The storyline is a mishmash of the usual stuff you get to see when watching your favorite soap opera. Really everything is foreseeable. There wasn&#39;t even the smallest new idea that would create a surprise. Then there were some very bizarre ideas. For example towards the end the filmmakers came up with jellyfish. The problem is that the story takes place on a small island in Europe&#39;s North Sea. And of course there are no jellyfish in the rather cold North Sea. The director should have tried to improve this movie. Maybe he should have insisted on some heavy cuts. In my opinion version that runs for approximately half an hour should be feasible. I&#39;ll try and forget &quot;Sommer&quot;. And wait for the next, hopefully better German movie.

&quot;Sommer&quot; or &quot;Summer&quot; is a German 100-minute film from 2008, so this one has its 10th anniversary next year. It was made by Marzuk, Klehmet and Wehlings and while I don&#39;t mind the Fünf Freunde films, there is nonetheless a great amount of films in their bodies of work where &quot;forgettable&quot; would still be a generous term describing the quality. And if you see in this one here that the younger Ochsenknecht son plays the male lead who is basically in every scene, then well... you probably know what to expect here. And you would be right, even if you have to say that it&#39;s not just Ochsenknecht. The entire cast is horrible and this especially surprised me about Niewöhner, but I guess he just improved over the years. Another one would be the love interest to the chubby boy, who had almost no screen time and material, but still managed to stay in mind for how bad she was. I am not a Sonja Gerhardt fan at all, but next to that she was kind of a revelation, so maybe the one who sucked the least from the main cast, which doesn&#39;t mean she was good though. It&#39;s tough to say if the script was worse or the acting, it&#39;s a tough battle as both hit rock-bottom. One of the parts that were toughest to watch was everything that involved romance basically, including the very last scene. But the drama was all at least as bad. The characters have zero shades. And the very worst was probably all about the main character. He is humble, kind-hearted, save his enemy&#39;s life, he is courageous, a &quot;good&quot; singer, a good friend, a lone wolf blah blah blah. God that was painful, he was basically God in the body of a teenager. Oh yeah, Uwe Ochsenknecht has a little cameo in here too, but there&#39;s a reason he is in it only for a few seconds as he knew how garbage this film was and without his son in it, he&#39;d never have appeared here. As would the Ochsenknecht sons never have enjoyed a career without their dad. The constant mentions in here about the protagonist&#39;s father in this film speak for themselves really because their connection to reality could not be any more cringeworthy. Oh yeah, the music in this film is quite horrible and with that I am not (only?) referring to Gerhardt&#39;s intended embarrassing scene, but also to the music they wanted us to like. Watch something else instead. Highly not recommended.

And the Quizmaster says: Wrong! Of course there are jellyfish in the north sea. And even two different types of them. But to say something about the film... Well, I know that this film wasn&#39;t the best one the German cinemas have shown. But, if you&#39;re looking for an easy to understand story, a &quot;shallow&quot; evening entertainment, it&#39;s really not the worst choice ^.~ Jimi Blue isn&#39;t playing well and in my opinion this film was for him to far parts publicity for his music, but its on the other hand still a cute coming-of-age story, and I had not the wish to open the DVD player, take a hammer and beat the DVD. Maybe its just because i really like such stories, but i think, this movie is worth to get 7 points, the music has done its bit... =) So this film is really something for you, if you&#39;re looking for a typical foreseeable teenage film, but really NOT, if you&#39;re looking for a surprising plot.

I have seen this movie with my friends and love love love it. It is such a sweet film about first love and the difficulties of growing up. It takes place on some island in the north sea and it made me wish to live on such an island myself. It has a little bit of everything: it is funny and heart warming. Sometimes it is a bit cheesy but hey, it is a bigger than live love story. The emotions are real, you can really feel with Tim and Vic and it is fascinating how the story develops and all the small things are put together in the end. I even had to cry in the end, I think we all did! It is a special film. This movie was extremely popular in Germany. It will always be one of my favorite films!
