The story of Misaki and Usami is super romantic. The real-life problems only add to the charm and the passionate attraction between them is undeniably captivating. I seriously loved watching this.
But... But... Why the heck Misaki keeps on insisting he's straight or into girls, not guys etc??? Even after living with his boyfriend for so long. At very least, he could own up to being a heteroflexible.
This kind of thing, is unfortunatelly not true to just this anime but so many others in yaoi genre. I just don't get it. Why so many guys in there can't own up to their sexuality? Yuri (at least in my experience) has girls realizing they're bi or lesbian much more often. Why are so many guys convinced they're straight when they're litterally "doing it" with other guys, out of their own free will while enjoying it?
Is it just me who gets frustrated by all this and wonders why?

As a yaoi or shounen-ai, I can't say I'd rate this particularly highly - the characters all look the same, the tsunderes get annoying, all the characters fall in love in very unrealistic ways (ie they're "straight"), it's full of clichés and the only way you know they're gay relationships is the occasional misgiving about their future without children and how they'll tell their parents. But the romance is endearing, if more suited to straight romance, the setting is very interesting, and the humour is brilliant. I can never stop laughing when watching this, the little references everywhere and the switches to comedic art styles and the reactions of characters make this definitely worth watching.

I have absolutely enjoyed this anime! The genre is yaoi (love between boys) and it was originally intended for girls. If you haven't watched anything like this before, you shouldn't be prejudiced about it, and at least see the first 2 or 3 episodes. If you have an open mind, i am sure you will like it.
The series focus mainly on the story between Takahashi Misaki(18) and Usami Akihiko(28), but there are other couples as well, known as Junjo Egoist and Junjo Terrorist; all the characters are very different, but they form great pairs, and it feels like there's nothing wrong with them being together.
Basically Akihiko (nick-named Usagi) is a popular writer, and a close friend of Misaki's brother. He becomes the boy's tutor, and when Misaki barges into his room yelling at him, and waking him up, he starts coming onto him. Misaki is very confused by all this, but they eventually fall in love. This anime is very romantic, and funny as well, mainly because Misaki keeps getting himself into trouble all the time.
The anime follows the manga almost word for word, but it is more censored. I recommend reading the manga afterwords if you want to see more detailed scenes or some scenes that have been cut from the anime. The voice actors are amazing and they have wonderful voices - especially Hanada-san (Akihiko).
I am usually very picky when it comes to yaoi because i don't like it when they dress up as girls, or how there are no women at all in the show... so this is by far the best yaoi i have ever seen.

This anime is just ... adorable. The characters are layered and interesting, the romances are too cute, and you might not be able to stop laughing. IT. IS. SO. FUNNY. And it's the little details that make it hilarious, such as the bears (UDON BEAR! :D) and Usagi's obsession with collecting bizarre things, because every time they sneak into the story you can't help but crack out laughing. Initially, I didn't want to know *anything* about all the other people who have their own episodes, because - MOAR USAGI AND MISAKI, M'KAY?! (It didn't help that I couldn't tell them apart at first. It really didn't. I spent half an episode wondering what (and who) the hell I was watching before Usagi showed up at Hiroki's door and it finally clicked.) But the other characters will grow on you, so stick with it! :) Anyway, if you're looking for a romantic comedy anime with some totally sweet (and not graphic at all) boy lovin' - DO NOT LOOK ANY FURTHER!!! Enjoy. And you're welcome! (",)
Since I don't watch Yaoi regularly, I usually don't know what to expect. I enjoyed every bit of this season though. The interaction between the main characters, Akihiko and Misaki was funny and awkward at the same time. You can totally feel the awkwardness of Misaki, the uke among the two. It gets funnier when Akihiko and Misaki show possessiveness towards each other whenever the third person enters the scene.
This season of Junjou Romantica also follows the story of two other couples; Junjou Egoist(Hiroki and Nowaki) and Junjou Terrorist(You Miyagi and Shinobu Takatsuki). All three relationships are loosely connected to each other, thanks to which we get to see some backstory of Akihiko Usami. While each of them show some amount of desperation for their respective partners, the Junjou Romantica couples are more possessive for each other, Junjou Egoist couples are insecure about their relationship and the Junjou terrorist couples are the most straightforward ones.
Overall, it's a funny anime with a soothing OST. The circumstances look so intense yet so funny to the point that you can't get enough of it.
