Regent Releasing and Here Media have acquired North American distribution rights to writer/director Jesse Rosen's comedy "The Art of Being Straight" from Great Graffiti Films.
"Straight" follows a young man (Jesse Rosen) who moves to Los Angeles after breaking up with his girlfriend.
Produced in conjunction with Malvern Productions by Laurence Ducceschi, Amy Wasserman and Ursula Camack, the film earned the Audience Award at the 2009 Dublin Glbt Film Festival.
The acquisition was negotiated by Mark Reinhart, general manager and executive vp distribution and acquisitions for Regent/Here Media, and Laurence Ducceschi at Great Graffiti Films.
A June 5 theatrical release in select cities is planned.

Regent Releasing and Here Media have just announced that they will distribute "The Art of Being Straight" in North America. The comedy from Great Graffiti Films will be sent out to select cities on June 5th this year. Jesse Rosen made his directorial and writing debut on the project which recently won the Audience Award at the 2009 Dublin Glbt Film Festival. Malvern Productions' Laurence Ducceschi, Amy Wasserman and Ursula Camack produce. "The Art of Being Straight" explores the too often strict boundaries of being gay or straight from the perspective of today's younger generation. Jon (Jesse Rosen), a twenty-something who after a break-up with his girlfriend, moves to L.A. for a fresh start. Crashing on his buddy's (Jared Grey) couch, Jon regresses to the comforting college student lifestyle of partying, womanizing and sexist trash talk. Reconnecting with his old fling Maddy (Rachel Castillo) proves to be surprising when she introduces him to her girlfriend.
