This show would have credibility if they got rid of Lee Corso. At 84 years old, all he does is put on the mascot hats and masks, and otherwise clown around. That spot he is taking up could be used for a good college football analyst who can add some valuable observations. I always switch the channel when Lee Corso starts talking. It is a waste of time when he is on.
In what has become a national treasure and tradition for many years is Saturday morning's "ESPN College GameDay" show as if you are a college football fan this show gets you running and in the mood for Saturday's all day and all night action! Many times the show is live from the campus of one of the day's or night's big matchups. And they interview fans and tailgaters, and show players and coaches arrive at the stadium off the bus, plus the stories and history of the game clips shown are memorable. Plus wacky skits are done with school mascots, and the hosts really know their stuff in Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit. Really a fun Saturday early watch to get the college football day started.
There is no need for 6 people, or even 5. Bring back the original format of 4 people. Pat McAfee is so annoying. More people just create noise and don't add to the show. When Corso retires they will just add more morons like Pat to make noise. Otherwise the show is lots of fun and a great way to decidee what games to watch for the day.
And to the other reviewer, who criticized Lee Corso, quit being an ageist. Corso is the heart of the show. He is funny and has a big heart. Just because he is in his 80's does not mean he cannot contribute. While I think 80's shouldn't be Senators, Congresspeople or Presidents, a 80 year-old sportscaster is perfectly fine.
Finally, ESPN and Fox Sports, quit trying to make College Football like the NFL!

The Soul of Saturday Football - Now with the GOAT in the Booth
This isn't just television. This is sacred ground for college football fans. From the crack of dawn on Saturday morning to the deafening roar of packed-out campuses, College GameDay is a living, breathing part of American sports. It's not just where stories are told - it's where legends are built.
And in 2023, they brought in a man who doesn't just know college football - he redefined it.
Enter Nick Saban
The General. The Standard. The Voice of Authority.
Coach Nick Saban stepping into the GameDay set wasn't a cameo - it was a seismic shift. The man who built a dynasty at Alabama brought with him a perspective no one else has. When Saban speaks, you listen - not just because of the rings, but because of the mind behind them.
His insight? Sharp as a blade.
His delivery? Calm, commanding, no fluff.
His presence? Undeniable.
Adding Saban to GameDay didn't just elevate the show - it cemented it as the undisputed authority on college football. When the greatest college coach of all time sits down at the desk next to Kirk, Rece, and the gang, you know you're witnessing something special.
The Core Lineup - Legends Only Rece Davis - The conductor. Professional, polished, and in total control. He sets the tone, and he does it with excellence every week.
Kirk Herbstreit - The oracle. Kirk doesn't just break down football, he sees through it. GameDay wouldn't be GameDay without him.
Desmond Howard - The fire. Des brings the energy, the bold calls, the championship swagger. A voice of confidence.
Pat McAfee - The chaos factor. Off-the-wall, fearless, raw. McAfee brings a jolt of life that reminds you this is more than analysis - it's entertainment.
Lee Corso - The heart. No moment in college football is more iconic than Corso's headgear pick. A tradition. A legacy. A legend.
Nick Saban - The architect. He brings championship DNA to the desk. His breakdowns are gold, and his presence is a masterclass in leadership.
Let's not forget the former voice of David Pollack - respectful nod for his years of grounded insight.
The Atmosphere: Tradition Meets Thunder
Every week, GameDay brings a festival of fandom to a new campus. The crowd signs are legendary. The face paint is battle armor. The anticipation is palpable. You don't just watch - you feel it. And when Corso picks the mascot and the crowd explodes? That's lightning in a bottle every single time.
The Why
Because it matters.
Because this isn't just about rankings or stats. It's about rivalries, loyalty, heartbreak, redemption. It's about towns that live for this one game. It's about legacy. And with Nick Saban on set, that legacy is now being guided by a man who built one of the greatest in the sport's history.
Final Word
10 out of 10.
Because it's not just college football coverage - it's the epicenter of the sport's emotion, culture, and history. With Nick Saban in the mix, it's smarter, sharper, and more legendary than ever.
This isn't a show. It's a damn movement.
And it just keeps getting better.
