The main reason I decided to check this movie out was because I was in the mood for some lighthearted wacky Asian comedy. And I chose this one because it has Riisa Naka and enjoyed her performances in few other movies. When I first saw the trailer to this, I was expecting a feel good comedy with some Japanese awkward humor. Yes, it does have those elements but it can get serious at times as well, especially near the end. Also this movie has it's way of grabbing the audiences attention although it starts out with normal life of Japanese people. And made me sort of be immersed in the scenarios and found the scenarios sot of engaging a bit. I guess it's because of the interaction and the awkward relationship between the characters, maybe the cute eye candy as well. And it manages to accomplish this task even if the premise may seem a bit too normal and mediocre. Another thing I really enjoyed was how there is a lot of unexpected stuff in it, when you may think you got certain things down it gives you a unexpected twist. Which made this movie stand out compared to other films that has a similar direction. And is the reason I am giving this a higher rating than I originally planned on giving since I thought I got the direction completely mapped out. On a negative side the movie does seem to get a bit tedious and drag after a while, but that is just minor complaints. It's a view of the real life modern Japanese people with their conflicts, but still engaging.

This movie is about an average man starting a café after receiving a large inheritance. He falls in love with a customer and hires her.
The casting for this film is godly. Miyasako Hiroyuki was perfect for his role, and Naka Riisa really looks like she could be his daughter. Asou Kumiko was absolutely beautiful, and there was just something about her that made this movie very funny.
There were many scenes that I thought were really stupid, but the movie was so well-directed that I burst out laughing every time, and not only that, the story spontaneously change from comedy to human drama that really touched me. Although family members may not show it at times, deep down... they really care about each other.
This movie also explores the complexity of human relationships, and how hard it is to get along with everybody.
The message of this movie is to cherish every moment, because you'll never know what you've lost until it's too late. Your parents might be embarrassing, and you may think you're doing something you really hate, but when you think back, they're all sweet memories. This movie is nothing fancy, but I really identified with the main character, and it was a really fun and positive experience for me.
