Ghost Stories 2: Unmasking the Dead

1st watched 7/4/2021 - (Dir-Dan T. Hall): version I watched was titled " Ghost Stories 2: Unmasking the Dead" Documentary where a group of paranormal investigators visit a few spots in Indiana, that are historically known for hauntings. The group includes Michael Jones, who is considered the inspiration for the movie "The Sixth Sense" - psychics, a believer in demonics, folks with EVP equipment, and intuitives (whatever that is). The initial scenes begin with hauntings in a museum that houses a mummy. This location seemed contrived and overdone. Some of the later spots seemed more authentic, at least. In one location they used dolls to manipulate the scary mood, which is so typical and un-necessary. They sped up and slowed down the camerawork in other spots to try and intensify the otherworldly-ness(again un-necessary). This movie would have been much better if they didn't add sounds and special effects that weren't part of the original investigations. They used a straight filming perspective in the latter pieces and they should have done this throughout. This would allow the viewer to make their own decisions about the accuracy of the events. Instead the manipulations made the film overall a lesser exploration of the subject than what it should have been.
