The film was originally written as a short story by R.Michael Gull in 1993. It took 15 years to make it into a film.

Goofs
At the opening of the film, Vincent, in response to being asked why he kills women, responds: "Why? Why do tigers eat zebra? Why do we make war on weaker nations? It's simply the way the world works, Detective Cross." The only problem is that tigers don't eat zebra. They don't even live on the same continent.
