Re: Zero Season 2 Episode 4 Review!

What's with this series having nothing more than decent to just good episodes, but then right out of nowhere we get a masterpiece like this? This was such an incredible backstory, most of this episode was nothing more than just dialogue, and yet it's incredible. Episode 18 was also amazing with most of it just being dialogue as well. I'm starting to notice that this series is really good at making episodes that have only dialogue, which is definitely not easy for the average series to accomplish, but this series seems consistently amazing when it comes to it. This might not be the best series out there, but the peaks of this series are no joke. This was an incredibly well-written backstory, and I'm starting to see why so many people love Subaru's character!

    This show keeps getting better

The episode in the previous arc, "Zero Kara" was a standout, a real turning point in the development of Subaru's character. Parent and Child is even better: it shows us a better look at Subaru's life in Japan before he was drawn into an alternate world. He has some qualities in common with the protagonist of Mushoku Tensei. Some psychological issues, though not as severe. It is really touching to see Subaru interact with his parents and talk with them, after he's grown and matured from events in this story. When I watched the first arc of this series, I thought it was all right, but maybe I could stop. After seeing the second arc, I was definitely hooked. I think this could be one of my very favorite series.
