An Unusual Russian Martial Arts Film

In full disclosure I do not know much about Russian film making. For me this fun and exciting, and somewhat humorous film, is very unusually shot. There is a lot of action in this martial arts, action, revenger drama about a former soldier seeking revenge against the man who killed his father. Police corruption, organized crime, and toxic masculinity abound in this one. The many fight scenes are good, but filmed in a very "speeded up" way, which somewhat detracts from them; however, it is highly watchable. This made me wonder if this was filmed in a Russian style, or filmed specifically for release outside Russia. This complex me to want to see more Russian action films. The film is subtitled.

Time to Gear Up for a Showdown!

I've seen so many combat stories that it's tough to surprise me with new action movies. However, I can confidently say that Denis Kryuchkov's film "Russkiy Reyd" definitely deserves attention, as it features an intriguing, no-holds-barred plot along with brilliantly choreographed fight scenes.

The main character is Nikita, a former special forces soldier, who is put in charge of a squad storming a Russian factory by some important folks. The key here is to act precisely, cohesively, and stick to a meticulously crafted plan. However, Nikita has his own agenda in this story, and he starts waging his own war, which means there will surely be a lot of blood, sweat, and gunfire.

The film comes across as dynamic, engaging, and tense. There are plenty of hand-to-hand battles, and they are all choreographed to the highest standard. What's interesting is that the main stars are professional athletes and stunt performers who also excel as actors. That's a rare find in the action genre! I also loved the cinematography and the soundtrack. They add a stylish touch to the film, which looks truly beautiful and stylish. Overall, it's clear that the creators took this project very seriously.

In conclusion, I'd say "Russkiy Reyd" is a standout example of its genre. It's genuinely interesting, packed with awesome action scenes, and boasts a powerful dramatic finale. This is the kind of movie I enjoy!

Well done action scenes. Convoluted plot.

Like others here I was impressed by the action quotient of this flick. All hand-to-hand fisticuffs, edged weapons, and gunfight sequences were done better then you see in a lot of other similar type movies. Realistic and bloody.

The story however was weak. There was a revenge aspect that was never fully realized along with a somewhat humorous visually realized treatise on Russian real estate transactions. Also an ending that begs for a sequel.

If this same crew had a decent budget and a good script for some project with a MISSION IMPOSSIBLE or DIE HARD type vibe I think they could put out a real winner I would check it out for sure.

Not Everything Will Come Out of This

Since the '90s, Russia has been going through a massive reshuffle of power in both politics and business. These processes haven't really quieted down even now, and we often hear in the news about various enterprises changing hands through militarized takeovers that have nothing to do with the law. The film "Russkiy Reyd" dives into these issues, offering a no-compromise look at the reality of the situation.

A group of well-trained fighters is tasked with taking over a factory. Leading the team is Nikita, a former special forces soldier. He has a special role in this mission, but no one could have predicted what he would do next.

Nikita couldn't care less about the factory or his own gain. What matters to him is avenging those who caused him and his loved ones great pain. It seems that he has come to settle a personal score and will stop at nothing until he has punished each and every one on his list.

First off, I've got to mention the film's stylish, hard-hitting atmosphere. The action is seriously impressive and takes up a huge chunk of the runtime. The main character is tough and fierce-definitely not someone I'd want as my enemy. Plus, he handles some solid dramatic moments alongside the fight scenes.

Overall, I'd recommend "Russkiy Reyd" to anyone who enjoys good action flicks. It also does a great job showcasing the issue of illegal takeovers. Unfortunately, these things are still happening today, and it's definitely worth talking about.

    fabulous choreographed...

Ufc/fisting/ wrestling/judo/budo/brazza shadowfight/shootins/shootouts/knifefights/swordballets, and a whole lot of crazy fun especially in the first 2/3'ds of the movie, and the story ever so simple and fragile from start to end is a heist, a revengeful and somehow justified deed done with neolittic sturdyness and neanderthalic methodics.

I enjoyed this alot, its a film without a good storyline, the madness of the participants of the heist are really making the story in a magnificent way, and may crush any american brawler action far down in the boots, there are maybe some c-quality british hudlum movies from the worst part of east-london that may be used as a referencepoint on shear fighting, and maybe some wimbledon footbal hooligans may fist like this, so remove your sidelook and take part in the game of russkiy reyd.

Its not a film for the feinsmackers, more like a bud spencer and terrence hill barfighting, therefore headsup and slainthe math and say spaziba before no spaziba. The grumpy old man recommends.
